This does everything I need it to and nothing else. The basics of steps and heartrate are covered and work well (HR data now syncs with Google Fit, yay!) and the extras are great. Improved sleep tracking that shows light and deep sleep, wake periods and even REM sleep. The stress tracker is interesting, and I'm not sure how they do it, but it seems like it might be something to help a little. The breathing exercise is something they added to Google Wear smartwatches a while back and it's great to have. Notifications are great, can see SMS and even other apps like Teams or Slack without having to pull out the phone. The screen is noticeably bigger from the band 4 and has good brightness and color. You can also edit the band display right on the band and show the info that is most important to you. Lots and lots of extras like weather, stopwatch and so on. And, you can make left or right swipe shortcuts to your most needed functions. Battery life is great, getting at least two weeks and the new magnetic charging cable is super. No more popping it out of the band to put it in a fiddly little cradle.It's a little more expensive, sure, but it is a LOT of bang for the buck. Highly recommended for those wanting a fitness band that doesn't try to be a full blown smart watch. (something that others have tried and failed at)

I'm so glad I bought this tracker. My company wellness program finally added Mi Band as an option for tracking steps and earning HSA rewards and I'm SOOO happy. I was stuck with an off-brand fitness tracker before and it never connected properly to sync steps, stopped providing notifications, etc. The Mi Band is awesome! Colorful screen, comfortable band, lots of options for tracking and for the display, and syncs consistently. I love that I can see entire text messages!

To start, I'm definitely not some huge fitness guy so this is from a fairly average at best person's perspective. I've head this for a few months now and I can confidently say it does what I need it to do for sleep tracking, step counting for my work benefits and the occasional heart rate check when I'm curious. The battery life on this unit is rather exceptional where I can go easily over two weeks in-between charges since I don't have auto heart reading on all the time. Sleep tracking with "Sleep as Android" works well where it will attempt to wake me up whenever it deems I'm in my lightest sleep state. This was my main reason for buying it because I always have a hard time getting up in the morning by alarm alone. To get the best functionality out of your device you'll have to download the Mi Fit app but I'd highly recommend getting Mi Band Tools if you have an android which will allow you to much deeper customize the watch and how it works with notifications and other settings.
