Nothing wrong with tuner. But no matter how you adjust it, it will never be on an angle where you can view it. It swivels and tilts but never where you can look at it from a playing position. I wrote Planet Waves (no reply) with a few tweaks of the design it could be great. But unless you can tune your banjo while it’s facing the floor it’s pretty clumsy. **Q: How can you tell when it is in tune from the display I have been putting one blue bar on each side of the middle note is this correct?** A: Yes. Bars to the left, flat. Bars to the right, sharp. Note bracketed (as you are doing) means you’re there. **Q: Can this be laid over the top of a Lyre Harp, maybe held down with thin Velcro straps, to tune across the scales?** A: My best guess is it could work in that application. Because of the way these are designed to simply slide under the brackets on a banjo it is only very lightly in contact with the instrument but I find it works well. What I don't know is the range of notes on a Lyre Harp. Some of these sorts of tuners have limited sensitivity ranges. This one works great on my banjos in their various common tunings but I don't know how well it might work on an instrument with a much wider range of frequencies. You might want to ask the manufacturer about that. **Q: Can this tuner be used quietly while actors are doing dialogue? I'm in a musical and must correct tuning between songs without the audience hearing it** A: It can in some settings. If your volume is turned off by the sound tech and you are far enough away from actors with a mic open. This tuner operates on vibrations and is placed between the rods on your instruments rim. So you don’t need to pluck loudly for it to work. This DEDICATED BANJO tuner works great and stays on the banjo head, not snug on my Deering Good Times, but doesn't fall off and gets the banjo in tune very well ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great place to keep a tuner parked *by J***H on July 19, 2019* The best thing about this tuner design is that it can be permanently parked in a convenient spot on almost any banjo. It is really convenient that I don't need to track down the tuner and clamp it on somewhere every time I get the instrument out of the case. "Almost any" is a key point here and the only reason it gets four stars instead of five. If the typical bracket hooks on the average banjo are only a couple of inches apart the plastic arms on this unit will slip under a pair of adjacent ones. The tuner can slide back and forth a short distance but will then stay in place. I did find it would not work on one of my instruments with fewer brackets which are further apart because one or the other of the arms was always slipping out from under its bracket. I intend to improvise a way to extend one of them so I can use one of these on that instrument but I'd rather see the manufacturer make them maybe twice as long with break lines cast into them. That way they could be customized to fit instruments with different bracket spacing.
