IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT THE USB MOVIE CODEC FOR READING OFF OF USB STICKS!
Works fine. Important info about the USB function for movies!! I spent half a day working on this until I found the solution after trying a ton of things...If you want to play movie files off of USB, they have to be AVI. The manual says that they have to be "Mpeg-4" but it never states which codec! This is important! It will only read movies encoded with XVID. It will not read Mpeg-4, h264, etc. It only reads XVID.I found free software on the internet called "Freemake" that helps re-encode stuff to Xvid. So I ripped the DVDs I owned, re-encoded them in Xvid and now they stream off of the USB stick. I did this to consolidate a bunch of movies I love watching on a single 64gb USB stick. If you use any other codec / format other than XVID you will get a "Format not supported" error. This drove me nuts for hours while I experimented! Also - for resolution, you have to make sure you use DVD resolution (720x576) which you can also select in Freemake (or make sure you select it in whatever program you use to re-encode) otherwise you will get a "resolution not supported" error when you try to play your movies off USB.I hope to save you some frustration since I spent hours of trial and error before I figured this all out. Also - you have to tell it you want to use DVDs or USB because they're two different modes. When you turn on the DVD player, if you put a stick in the USB port, you have to hit "USB" on the remote to switch it to USB mode otherwise when you hit "Video" on the menu it'll keep telling you there's no movie because the DVD tray is empty. If you switch to USB mode and hit "Video" it will read the stick. Vice versa for switching to DVD mode and exiting the USB Stick mode.So far, so good. I'm very happy with this.

Easy set-up – very satisfied with this player
Lately, I have been adding on to my DVD library, but found many of them to be Region 2 DVDs, and since my old multi-region player was on its last legs, I decided to upgrade to a new one and after reading the customer reviews here on Amazon, decided to go with this Samsung Multi-Region DVD player. The set-up is a cinch. There is USB 2.0 connectivity, progressive scan, EZ View and Super Scan playback. It is small enough that it doesn’t take up too much space in my already cramped work space (which is in the breakfast nook of my kitchen). The player also allows one to play CDs through one’s TV and copy CDs, although I don’t really use these features. The playback formats are: DVD, DVD +/-R/RW, CD, CD-R/RW and the player comes with a small remote. All in all, I am very satisfied with this multi-region DVD player and for the price, I think it is a worthwhile investment, especially if you plan to purchase non-Region 1 DVDs.

So far So good
I bought this player exclusively to play PAL discs. So far I have had no issues. I have been playing it regularly for the last 4 days, both PAL and NTSC discs. Works well thus far. My only complaint is that the USB takes awhile to load if you have a lot of info on your flash drive, but that's a minor complaint. Also the files on any given flash drive are given on screen in an odd order which I haven't figured out yet. It isn't alphabetical or numerical based on the name of given file. Perhaps its size order. Furthermore If I buy a DVD player for under 100 dollars, I don't necessarily expect it to play DVD-Rs well or without the occasional skipping, pixilation or freezing up. So if DVD-Rs are your thing, pay the extra to get a more high quality player. If I have any issues in the future with this player I will update my review4 months later and no problems. April 2018 - the only problem I have come across so far with this player is that the DVD drawer has been closing on its own after I hit open on the remote. I have to battle it sometimes - after I push the open, it will open and then attempt to close on its own, at which point I will push the open button again and get into something of a tug of war with it. After a few times the drawer will finally stay open on its own. Also occasionally when putting in a disk, the drawer will start closing itself, as if it sensed minor pressure or movement and that triggered the drawer to close. Its not a huge problem but gets annoying and you have to watch to make sure the drawer doesn't close before you have fully placed the disk in its well, otherwise it may get jammed between the player and the drawer. Otherwise still working fine.

Slow and loud, but plays DVDs my regular player can't play
The only reason why I bought this was because it looked like it could handle DVDs from any country, and I was having issues with the Korean and Chinese DVDs playing on my regular player.GOOD NEWS! It can play the Korean and Chinese DVDs that I couldn't play with my regular player.BAD NEWS! It's sooooooo slow! And a bit loud! Ugh!!But it does get the work done for the first time, so I can't really complain.About the Samsung Multi Region Player:Full HD 1080p Progressive Scan OutPlays All Region Standard DiscsDefect Disc Reading SolutionCD Ripping FeatureDust ProofConnect Share Movie FeatureKaraoke ReadyLED Front DisplayChild Protection AvailableRemote control includedVoltage 110-240 VoltDimensions: 15 x 17 x 23 inches

Great little DVD player for a very very reasonable price
I needed this region free dvd player to watch all my french movies as I could not hack my other dvd players to be region free. It is very compact so perfect for tight spaces. Easy to set up and has a very small remote. The only downside is that it is not HDMI ready so you loose a lot of the image quality. I do not experience the loud noise like certain reviews talk about but perhaps my TV is loud enough to mask it.I have not used the Karaoke feature so I cannot give you a review on that and I have not see the USB connection port at the front to see if it can read my music or images but I will update this review when I do.The instructions are in spanish so if you do not speak spanish this might be a problem if you plan on using every single feature this DVD has to ofter. If you just want it to wtahc movies, than all you have to do is plug the cord to the electricity and the TV :-)

I was really excited when this arrived this morning but ...
I was really excited when this arrived this morning but I can't rate or review this properly because I can't set it up for use!I've looked all through the provided information and none of the instructions are in English even the guarantee! There all for countries in South America!Luckily I have a brother who is a bit of a techie! He was able to visit a day of two later and he also brought a copy of the English language version of the user manual my son sent in a PDF file!He set this up and we watched something right away!It works really well and what we watched was a DVD in PAL from Australia!Haven't tried DVIX yet but have no doubt it will work just fine!Watched Hobson's choice on DivX this morning and it works beautifully! The only things I don't like are that the remote is so small and there is no light to tell you when it's on.Only tiny letters like the crawler on a news show

I found that the Samsung360 was easy to connect to our TV
I found that the Samsung360 was easy to connect to our TV. The price is right and we have been pleased with the performance to date. (We have only used it to watch 3 DVD's from England.)It comes with an adaptor for the plug so that it can b e used in North.America. I find that the adaptor does not fit the original plug as snuggly as I would expect but it has not given any problems.

Not the Best Sound nor Video Quality
Some scenes on DVDs tend to freeze and the sound level is exceptionally low: I have to put the sound on my TV to the max--100%--and, even then, sometimes the sound is barely audible. All things considered, I'd rather have spent a few more bucks to get a system that actually works properly. If anyone's thinking about buying this item, I'd suggest that you keep looking: your investment in time will have been better spent than choosing this item.
