If they are a standard toothbrush style charger, it should work fine.

Do that screw to a standard double surface box

Due to the size of the transformer this product will not fit in a standard surface box. I think the recommended depth is 40mm for flush or surface mounting.

Is there anything else needed for this, apart from an electrician to fit?

you need to bear in mind where you are fitting this - if its in existing tiles then the electrician may not be able to cut the tiles etc and may ask you to call a tiler for that. If its in a brickwall then the electrician will need to rout out a channel for the wire etc - and then you need to plaster / decorate make good etc after its fitted. If its in a stud partition, assuming there is access for wiring purposes, you just need a wall box to screw this into - this fits a standard 47mm wall box but you may need to find longer fixing screws as the ones supplied may be too short - an electrician should have the longer type. Looks very neat once fitted (assuming correct fitting of course).

I want to use this with a with a 3 pin timer socket. So could I just wire this to a 3 pin uk plug, (which feeds though a channel to the loft)? Thanks

This product normally occupies a place on the lighting circuit so yes you could wire it into a standard plug top but fuse it at 3 or 5 amp (5amp being a typical lighting circuit value).
