Has a built-in 10 to 15 second delay so that short time power outage will not set the alarm off. Tone is 95 decibels at 30 cm.

This item works great and has faithfully alarmed every time there has been a power outage. The power has failed twice since I purchased the alarm. What I don't like is having to replace the 9 volt battery every 3 weeks like clockwork. The red light flashes telling me the battery need to be changed. I notified the seller and they sent me a replacement immediately, but it does exactly the same thing; at 21 to 22 days of operation the red light starts flashing. I tried cheap batteries and the top of the line batteries and they get exactly the same operating life. Sorry.... I'm not replacing 9 volt batteries every 3 weeks.

Works when the power goes out but you have to change the battery every 3-4 weeks which gets old. That means you're going to go through about 17 batteries per year for this unit. Gets expensive too.

Power-Out Alarm
I've used a power-out alarm in my bedroom for several years. I want to know if power is out and my wake-up alarm is not going to work. A couple of them had built-in flashlights that would power-up when power goes out. In my opinion, worthless. They didn't work well as an power-out alarm and they didn't work as flashlights. This unit uses a 9VDC battery as the power souce when the AC power goes out. It simply drops a relay after 20 seconds of power out (eliminating false alarms with low-voltage spikes)and triggers a piezo alarm. There is a neon 120VAC lamp that stays on when it is plugged in so you know its armed and the outlet/alarm is working correctly. A great product. I've had mine for several months (including two power outages) and it worked perfectly as designed.

The unit works OK but the 9 Volt battery has to be replaced every two to three weeks. This is NOT acceptable....!!!!I have had two of these. The one I purchased and a free replacement [because of short battery life]. Both had short lived 9 volt battery problems and are now in the trash. The maker should modify the circuit board so that the battery is only activated during a power failure.
