Easy to apply

Application was easy for exterior wooden door frame to brick shed. I trust it'll do what it should but to be honest, it's a shed and if it catches on fire the only thing left standing will be the sealer in the shape of a door frame

I have used this around my log burner chimney hole in the roof. Normal sealant wouldn't cut it because of the high temperature of the flue. It has worked so far so hopefully have found a good solution.

This product provides you with up to 5 hours peace of mind should the worst happen. Easy to use (make sure you have the correct dispensing tool!), easy to clean up. 10/10

Used to seal around electric cables due to the five hours fire proofing capability. Hopefully will never need to prove it works, but good to know it is there all the same. Goes in the same gun as normal sealants and easy to use. RECOMMENDED

This product is indeed very pricey, but unlike an ordinary tube of mastic it's highly specialised, and is manufactured to achieve quite an impressive technical performance. In certain circumstances its use is also vital in order to comply with fire prevention regulations and building standards. This tube of mastic can literally save your life.Take, for example, a heavy fire door in the corridor of a hotel or office. The door and frame set will have been manufactured to a high specification, but if the frame hasn't been correctly sealed against the wall the fire door will be useless, because the flames will quickly eat their way behind the frame and continue on their path. This intumescent and fire retarded mastic stops that dead. It does the same job around pipes, cables and anything else penetrating the wall of a fireproof compartment.Intumescent material works by expanding when exposed to flame. That fills any small voids and increases the area of fire proof material, to resist the flames. It has the ability to resist the passage of flame for up to five hours too, which is a very impressive performance. To put that into perspective, the temperature of a building fire can rise to many hundreds of degrees centigrade within a matter of minutes - enough to melt metals and soften steel beams. That's why a quick exit is vital. Safely holding back the flames for the few minutes it takes you to reach safety is what is required of this product, and I think it's fair to say it's fully capable of that job.When applying this mastic make sure you do a really thorough preparation job first. Clean and vacuum the joint of any dust or loose material and fill it as fully as possible with the mastic, leaving no gaps.
