The offending dozen or so were squishy soft and didn't crackle like the normal caramels. The salt crystals crunched while the normal caramels had a crackle to them. The offending dozen smelled weird--not like candy but sort of like a dirty shop. We were so disappointed we don't want to take any more chances with these "caramels". They were squishy, greasy salt mistakes that smelled and tasted like a dirty shop!
