I tried scrubbing and used some toilet cleaners and had no luck removing the scale. I researched the web and saw several reccomendations for Zep Acidic Toilet Bowl Cleaner. I decided to order it from Amazon due to the great price. It arrived in great shape with no leakage. I turned off the water to the tank, flushed and reduced the amount of the water in the bowl. I coated the bowl around the ring and let it drip down. I scrubbed the ring and then let the solution sit on the scale overnight. The next morning, the scale had dissolved into a powder. I turned on the water, let the tank fill and flushed it down. The bowl was perfectly clean with no scrubbing or work. Zep smells like wintergreen and is a thick blue liquid gel. The bottle is a quart and has a bent neck to help angle the solution to squirt under the rim of the bowl.
