GRIFEMA G951 Toilet Seat, Soft Close Toilet Seat D Shape Premium UF

This was the 4th replacement toilet seat I’d bought for our hateful toilet!!! I had gone with measurements in person and got nowhere, then ordered two online and had to return the first one so I wasn’t hopeful about this as it was half the price of all the others. I waited a week to fit it as I expected it to be a headache like our old one but I was blown away!! Perfect fit. Really smooth mechanism and zero movement one it’s in place. Plus it took less than ten mins to fit! I love the quick release (we didn’t have this before so it was impossible to clean). So impressed I’m buying another one for upstairs loo.

Recommended. Used on a Twyfords Pure D-shape pan. Bought one of these in 10/23 and have been happy with it. Ordered a replacement in 08/25 due to the original being cracked by having a weighty glass jar dropped on it from a height. This is no reflection of the quality of the item. No rigid plastic item could have been expected to survive this! I only mention this as I expected, when ordering the same item, that it would be a simple matter of unclipping the old (like you do for cleaning) and clipping on the new one. However, the 2025 version is shorter and has different profile fixing pins, which are also spaced at a different pitch. This meant removing the old fixings as well. Not a big issue but not what was expected when ordering the same item. The new one came with a cardboard template for aligning the fixings. I don't remember the old one having this and it made fitting the new one so much easier than before, as it obviates the need to keep trying on the whole seat each time you adjust. I think the new version is a neater fit. Unlike the current pictured item - and the 2023 version - it doesn't have such a large release button, nor does it have the manufacturer name embossed into the button. However, it does have the name embossed into the plastic on the underside of the lid, which the old one didn't. I think this is a positive change.

This product failed after 2 months I.E not soft close any more just slams down. I gave it 1 star because it did fit the toilet and it is not easy to find a seat of this size

I bought this toilet seat three years ago, and honestly, it has been excellent. It still looks amazing, the soft-close lift still works perfectly, and overall I’m genuinely impressed with the quality. However, about a year ago, the seat became wobbly. It was clear that something had gone wrong with the fitting, but the real adventure started when I tried to remove the decorative caps. It has taken me a year of regular attempts to get those bloody caps off. In the end, I had to twist, damage, and basically open them like a can. The metal is great, the silicone is still soft — but the cap was absolutely, fatally, permanently ingrown. Once I finally got inside, I discovered that the plastic part where the bolt screws in had broken, which explained why the seat had become wobbly. I’ve now ordered a new set of fittings and hope they will fit. So, overall: it’s a great product, still looking and working beautifully after three years. But the fittings, especially the removable caps, could really do with an upgrade. It would make a lot of sense to make them easier to remove for maintenance or replacement.

Moved house and this was a need. Really pleased with the quality of this item and it looks really nice. It feels safe and doesn’t move when you sit down. It feels really sturdy. When it came to cleaning it, the removal was so easy and a lot better than previous ones I have purchased. Highly recommended.

Muy sorprendida para bien. Mi váter es antiguo y bastante estrecho, por lo que me costó mucho encontrar una tapa que pudiera encajar bien. Me la jugué con esta porque era la que mejor encajaba con las medidas y salió bien. Súper fácil de colocar, el mecanismo de bajar lento es un plus y además es bastante cómoda. No es de cerámica pero es un plástico duro y resistente. Desde casa la recomendamos! PD: la tengo colocada desde hace poco más de un mes porque primero quería darle un uso diario antes de hacer la reseña. PD 2: la tengo ya colocada mas de 6 meses y sigue como el primer día. El mecanismo de bajar lento está perfecto, no se ha roto por ningún lado. Sigue intacta. Sí que la recomiendo, sí.
