How should I know what Fooly Cooly is?
This product is the compilation of the two volumes that make up the manga adaptation of the FLCL anime.Anime that gets turned into manga always seems a bit backwards, and more often than not it ends up soulless, empty and generic. This is not the case with FLCL.Hajime Ueda's distinctive and beautiful art style fits perfectly with FLCL's layered, rich story. One complaint I see about FLCL both anime and manga is "I just didn't get it". I say you don't really have to "get it"; FLCL is a story made up of metaphor upon metaphor, and it contains allusions to everything from puberty to japanese politics, so it's not important to understand every little detail about it, but simply to take something positive or thought-provoking away from it. And it certainly left me with a lot to think about. Highly recommended. (lovely colour artwork pages as well!)

Good to say the least
I was really not sure what to expect here, this was my first time buying Manga (seeing a book open the wrong way round was the most confusing thing ever LMAO) and I think FLCL was a weird one to start on. Although I really liked the Anime so I thought it be interesting. The Manga didn't fulfil all my personal expectations but it was fun to read and interesting to see the differences in story compared with the Manga. It'll even explain a few things better than the Anime.Sadly it loses a single star because we don't see much of Commander Amarao or Lieutenant Kitsurubami in this, or at least not as much as in the Anime.Still I think its a cool book to own none the less so consider it if you're a fan of the Anime.

What did I just read?
I honestly have no idea what I just read. It's bizzare, confusing and all over the place. I don't know whether it has something to do with me being tired every time I tried reading it or if it was due to the fact I was reading it on my laptop. I just don't really think I took any of this manga in. There is a girl with a vespa, a boy who grows a robot out of a lump of his head (not the mention the semi-naked girl dressed as a bunny), another girl who has a jellyfish-looking-thing growing out of her head and cats that seem to be some form of higher beings or Gods. I just - what? I enjoyed what I understood but I just couldn't follow the storyline and was left so utterly confused that I almost almost gave up. I think one day I'd like to try and reread this in a hard copy because I think that would really help for me to take in what the hell was going on and it'd be a lot easier to flick back and read or double check the previous pages. I'd try and write more but I don't really think I can do it justice from this readthrough.Recommend? Yes simply so you can explain to me what I read.

Great manga
Great manga, although not as good as the anime. Drawing style seems rougher than the anime.Still good. Would reccommend
