Although there are tons of brands, both from large manufacturers and small home businesses, that produce natural and organic body products that do their jobs wonderfully, hair spray is a tricky mixture to create. But, given the incredible toxicity of traditional hair spray, and the relative difficulty in finding anything natural to recreate what hair spray is meant to do, I was eager to try this product. What's most important about it is that it does what it advertises, and more effectively than other products or recipes for natural hair spray, in my opinion. What's less important, but still enjoyable, is that it has a pleasant smell and doesn't leave my skin feeling nasty if it settles onto it. As for the functionality, if I gently pat my freshly-sprayed hair, I can feel a slight firmness that I can tell will make my style last longer than it would without it, but it's not a super strong hold. You couldn't really fiddle with your hair much after spraying and expect it to hold very firmly, but it makes a great finishing spray for keeping everything neat and in place but without locking your hair into place and looking like a plastic wig. I'm not sure what spraying heavily, or using a few applications would do. It might make a firmer hold, but I prefer to use very little product in my hair, even when it's natural, so I couldn't say for sure. But, using a few spritzes to equal a light application, I'd call it a medium-light to medium hold and perfectly suitable for most applications, so long as those applications are falling short of beauty pageant hair-mountains or Liberty Spikes. But smoothing a ponytail? Assisting curls to stay in? Very acceptable performance, and being able to use hairspray again without plastering the insides of my lungs with noxious chemicals makes it absolutely worth its price.

I think I've written maybe 3 product reviews in my life, I don't generally care enough to take the time, but this hairspray is incredible. It has ZERO chemical smell, a very low EWG rating (ewg.org, they rate for toxicity of ingredients), leaves a wonderful shine, but most importantly: it HOLDS. I have a moptop of salt and pepper (see pics) and this spray locks in my curls all day, holds the overall shape beautifully, and doesn't frizz out in humidity (!). If you use enough it will get crunchy, which I like because that's what locks in the curls, but you have to spray 'generously' to make that happen. Whatever they're doing at Intelligent Nutrients, I hope they keep doing it as I've never found a healthy, truly non-toxic hairspray that can hold its own against the unruly pile of hair on my head. This is as 'firm' as you could ask and the only other hairsprays I've used which hold this well have plasiticizers in them, and neither you, me, nor the planet needs any more plastics in the waste stream. I am highly allergic to the chemicals in toiletries and cosmetics, and this is the first time I have ever been able to use a hairspray that my skin doesn't react to at all. It is a beautiful product, right on the money, lovely, nourishing ingredients and excellent hold with no flaky yucky residue whatsoever. However, if I'm paying 30 dollars for a bottle of hairspray, the darn packaging should be adequate. The little plastic stick that goes into the spray hole to keep it clear of sticky dried hairspray always breaks off, and this bottle didn't even have one. So I had to use an old spray bottle and it really isn't spraying properly. Very annoying. I think with a product of this quality and price and 'greenness' the company should package it in glass with adequate spritzers, much like the eco-conscious packaging Weleda uses for its products. Overall, however, it is what it's supposed to be and does what it's supposed to do.

This hair product is really quite amazing. I have very fine, rather thick hair that cannot take any kind of product weight as it makes my hair look immediately greasy. This product is simply amazing in that I can't feel it in my hair, at all, yet it holds it for several days between shampoos! I use it at my roots for lift, and then to secure my curl when I use a curling iron. My hair stays soft and silky, but maintains the body I used it for! I'm frugal with the amount I use, but it seems a little goes a long way. I'm in love. It's expensive, but def worth it!

I've been looking for a non-toxic hairspray that actually works...and after using this I can say I'm still looking. This stuff has a strange smell that I could deal with if it actually worked, but it doesn't. I used this in windy, humid conditions, and my hair blew all over, and then froze in place in the wrong direction. It's also such a fine mist that it's hard to target one area of your hair as it sprays all over the place.

Hi I attached a photo below to show this product does the job. I only use it when I have short hair. If you spray too much your hair will look wet. But if you spray a little and blow dry warm it will immediately have a strong dry looking hold. I use this because my hair is slowly thining and I don't want to use chemical products. I used an entire bottle and this stuff is great . Only thing is the sprayer gets clogged but you just scratch the sugary surface off with your nail and your good to go. That's how every spray is though ! Organic all the way

This hairspray does an ok job holding my hair though not as great as I though it would be. To me, the smell is kinda weird. It's like a mix of vinegar and Chinese herbal medicine. Not very pleasant to me.. And after using it for two weeks, the pump head broke and I can no longer spray it out. My money got totally wasted.
