If you like the thought of rain forest and woodiness, then this purchase will not dissapoint you. We have expensive metal chimes in the front yard and this woody sound adds to the orchestra. You could just sit in a place, close your eyes and get lost into the world of meditation. The craftsmanship is definitely not cheap, but since it's made of natural bamboo I do not expect it to last eternity.

The deeper sounds of the bamboo chimes remind me so much of a trip to Hawaii a few years back. The sounds are beautiful. I have had trouble getting the birdhouse on the top hanging straight but the chimes are so soothing.

A friend gave me this wind chime saying she loved it so much she considered keeping it for herself. It is beautiful and I'm glad she didn't... but, knowing how much she liked it, I ordered one for her. It was wrapped well and arrived quickly. I love the sound of bamboo and the colors are complementary to each other. I think they look better in real life than they do in the picture. I noticed people asking about birds. This is designed to be a wind chime. If you want to attract birds to it, look up nesting data for birds that nest in your area. See if it can be modified to accommodate them. They instinctually know that a hole too large allows access by predators and you may need to do something to adjust the size of the entrance. The overall size is a determinant, too. They don't want the nest itself near the entrance (I'm doubtful that it's deep or wide enough but could be wrong). Further, if it's too close to the house, human activity or has no natural coverage (branches, leaves, etc.), many birds won't use it. I'd recommend using it as an adorable wind chime and get a separate birdhouse designed to be a birdhouse.

Bought this for my husband, we used to have one like this but it went missing. It was hard to find a bamboo one, so this one was a fantastic find. I also do not like wind chimes, I find them loud and annoying, but this one is great because it is not too loud, and makes a very nice quieter sound.

Love these wind chimes. Beautiful colour and sound. I hung it on the outside in front of my huge window hoping to keep the birds from hitting the window.
