Speed Demon Elite Baitcasting Fishing Reels,Saltwater & Freshwater

This is a great reel for the money. It’s light (made with carbon fiber), runs smooth(10+1 shielded stainless ball bearings). Has the swing side to allow easy access to the magnetic brake adjustment. Other more expensive reels I have you have to access through the side with the handle. Which is reel inconvenient while fishing. It’s easy to clean and oil. All that said it looks great, and with all the latest breaking systems it throws a mile. Like all bait casters you have to adjust and there is a learning curve. But all that easy with this reel and bird nestless casting is easy as it gets with this reel. Which is the main reason to get this reel. I would definitely recommend this reel to anyone wanting a great baitcasting reel.

Jastking has been making an incredible product line for a while now. This new tell us no exception! The build quality feels solid and the 10:1 ratio is insanely fast! I can't speak to the anti-backlash technology just yet but if I have any issues I will update my review. I'm looking forward to catching some monsters on this reel very soon...

Second Amazon Peacock Bass trip second failure for this worthless reel. Kastking seems to have an issue with reliability, this is the second frustrating mechanical failure on my second trip dealing with this reel coming apart. I brought the real down again this year after repairing the failure after last year‘s trip. I had the exact same failure again The little set screw that holds the little red collar that stops the nut from backing off the handle and drag assent comes out… Save yourself your hard earned money and a lot of frustration and steer very clear of this product. It’s just not worth your aggravation. Trust me.

I have several brands of casting reel but the speed of this reel is no joke. This reel is fast! Also the micro-control dial was super helpful making slight adjustments to the brake between casts without having to open up the reel to change braking pins. But even if I had to open it, the swinging side door really eliminated the nerve-wracking experience with other reels of dropping doors/parts while in the field. This is also probably the lightest baitcaster reel I've tried. Also customer support was super polite and responsive. Outstanding reel and I plan on buying another for my second rod.

I ordered the 10:5:1 left hand reel, even paid extra for fast shipping. Instead I received a damaged box that was completely abused and inside the reel was popped open, then I realized they sent the wrong reel. I will be sending back and I hope this is fix and they send me the right one otherwise I will not change this review. Buyers beware!!!!! Update: The new one was sent and was much better, the box was not abused and the item was the correct item, very nice reel

I have Spartacus, Royale Legend II, Whitemax and now the Speed Demon. Is there a difference between the Speed Demon and the lower tier? That is an easy answer is a blind fold test when you spin each real. I bought it to try it out to see if the difference in price worth the value. There are much more differences when free spooling and reeling in the fish with the speed demon. The Speed Demon is absolutely so much smoother and you can feel there is "no play". You really don't know/aware the "no play" until you spin the Speed Demon vs the lower tier e.g. Spartacus/Royale Legend II. It seems there is no tolerance/vibration in the spinning mechanism. I had trouble later with braided line after 30 min of using it and got worse after further tuning it: would get bird nest on every cast if I am not maxing out 10 on the braking system. And yes, I adjusted the free-spooling drag correctly! Not sure if it is the centrifugal brakes system related though I really like the magnetic system in the lower tier: definitely need more time to play with braided line. Thing really changed to be better when I swapped to 12lbs monofilament. These pictures show what a fun time I had this last weekend of catching shads. I filled up the 85qt cooler in 4 hours. If anyone had done shad fishing, you cast out every 3-5 minutes and I got zero bird nest with monofilament. I am not a die-hard fisherman but this last weekend it was cloudy and the fish was not biting close to shore but the long cast with this Speed Demon was biting almost on every cast. Other fishermen with their spinning rod setup were very jealous the non-stop action I was getting! At the moment, it was a good time and a good experience (beside the braided line incident) so definitely worth the money. I will update any resolution I have on the braided line if anyone want to ping me for a follow up!

I tried and tried to adjust this reel out to prevent backlashes. It just isn't happening. In the instructions it mentions that if you tighten the spool too much it will cause the reel to have premature wear. Unfortunately, that is the only way to slow down the spool. I engaged all the magnets and put the thumb wheel on 9 (the max). It was still backlashing. Apparently, this was an independent issue with the reel I purchased. KastKing's customer service is top notch. They made it right and now with Suffix 832 line on my spool, my reel casts perfectly with no backlashing. Thank you to Kast King for all the assistance.

I just Received it in the mail today appears to be in great quality I love the look of it. It’s my first bait casting real. It came with good instructions, really easy to use. Just a couple cast and a few adjustments and good to go.
