The reason - my granddaughter loves it!!! While I do say that it is not as thick and plush as I thought it was from the picture, I don't care. It is pretty, it is so soft, and my little granddaughter wants to just lay on it every time she is at the house!! So, I bought another one for when the first one wears out. The added attraction is that the bottom of of the rug is the "rubber" non-slip material (like a bath mat) which makes it very safe on the hardwood floor. And if she wants another one, I will buy another one!! I absolutely recommend this product. I is my own fault though; I thought I was purchasing a three pack, as shown in the picture. It's a bit pricey for one rug. I will say that the rug is very soft and it is padded. The top is a plush velvet and the bottom is white with little traction "bumps" all over. I will feel very comfortable laying my new grandbaby on this rug to play with her.
