Exactly what I need for my iPhone 6S!
I bought this because I wanted to use a professional microphone through my phone while using the app, Smule! It was about time I tried my hand at a more studio like sound! The item works perfectly in attachment to my iPhone 6S because of the lightning port! It also charges my phone while it is plugged in. Super useful for multiple ways! Some people get this so you may attach a camera (with the USB port) and transport photos. I haven't tried it myself but I'm sure that works! For sure, I will have that option in the future with this little guy! It's durable and well-made so, it looks like it will last. For those of you buying this item for the same reason I did (with Smule, I mean), be aware that you will need to use a microphone that you can plug your earbuds into. If you try plugging in earbuds to your phone, like how you do normally with Smule, while your mic is plugged in using this adapter, you will not be able to hear the song in your ears. Yes, you can still sing with said microphone you bought, but you will not hear the song you're singing. My microphone has a plug in port for earbuds to which I used whilst singing on Smule and I can both hear my voice in the microphone and the song from Smule. Keep that in mind! Hope this helps!!

A good cheap alternative to connect usb devices
Update; after playing with some different set ups I got it to work :D Seems good and seems to work, just doesn't work for the purpose I got it for which is to plug in a usb bluetooth keyboard via a small usb port plug in, it's kind of a weird set up. I think that this product will only work with direct plugins and not bluetooth connection maybe. Otherwise, seems sturdy and useful. A good price reduction vs the original item from Apple themselves, that's for sure.

Poor USB-C Design – Disappointing Purchase
I’m really disappointed with this product. When I bought it, it was advertised as one of the best on the market, but my experience was very different. It works well when connected to my iPad and through the USB port. However, when I tried to use the USB-C port, the cable did not fit at all because the opening is too small. Because of this, I couldn’t use all its features and felt like I wasted my money. In my opinion, it is poorly designed and I do not recommend it.

Works with My iPhone 12 to connect my Scarlett Solo, but not with external SSD drive
Easy, no hassle connecting of my audio interface and a power source to my iPhone. However it does not work for connecting my Samsung T7 external SSD. I bought the offical Apple adapter after this, and the first thing it did was update the firmware in the adapter. I rebooted my phone, connected a charger to the lightning port in the adapter, and the official Apple adapter worked perfect identifying the external SSD drive.

External very old Iomega HDD connected perfectly and both way file transfers were very fast.
Couldn’t find much info on the Web on connecting my ancient Iomega external hard drive to an iPhone. I wanted some files from HDD copied to my iPhone 12 and vice versa. Was pleasantly surprised when Iomega-HDD popped up in my files app. Dead easy to copy pictures and videos onto the HDD and to move files about on the HDD and copy files from HDD to my phone. It’s a big chunky HDD, not a flash drive. Lot cheaper than the Apple one and looks like a solid, well made device in excellent packaging. And, as usual, amazingly fast delivery on Amazon Prime.

Works Great To Connect Blue Yeti Microphone to Phone
Works as it’s intended. I did a ‘test run’ on this product to see if it would actually work as an alternative to the overpriced ($50) Apple version, and it works perfectly. I use it as an adapter to connect my high-end microphone to my iPhone, and to charge the phone at the same time for filming quality YouTube videos with better sound quality than a phone’s microphone. Definitely recommend it, save a good $20 or so with this instead of Apple’s version.
