For my application (Lexus GX 460) I got my needle nose pliers and put a very slight bend on one of the tabs for a perfect fit. I wrapped a shop rag underneath and around the radiator's filler neck and performed the refill procedure. The yellow stick thing is a plug that you won't use until the radiator won't take any more coolant so when the thermostat opens it can feed from the fluid in the fill funnel and won't burp out all over the place. Simply insert the stop plug into the funnel and remove the funnel from the fill neck. It's super easy and you'll like it.
