**Q: what is the diameter of the base?**
A: The diameter of the base is 12 inches. The base is weighted.  FYI , we use this hall tree to keep shopping bags and hats. It works nicely .

**Q: How big is it when shipped?  What is the longest piece?**
A: Not very big.  It comes in about three pieces to assemble.  I like the tree design and am glad I bought it.

**Q: Why does this item say "material: fabric?" It seems to be metal and wood - is there fabric somewhere?**
A: I don't recall seeing any fabric. Metal and Wood.

**Q: I know  it should be simple but having trouble with assembly.  Follow the diagram but the base is completely wobbly!☹️?**
A: It was always a little wobbly for me.  It's been years since I had this product.  I wound up giving it away.
