Its now just a matter of gently pushing into position.On a smooth surface it could act as a dolly in the traditional sense though I would have thought you would need to build rails for it to run along if you wanted control, I might give it a go for the occasional tracking or moving shot but in reality its for locating the heavy equipment quickly and safely.Each tripod leg tip is approx 29" from each other when the dolly is fully extended. The weight of the tripod is concentrated into the wheels so it feels very stable. The large rubber feet of my tripod fit into the tightening mechanism fine.
