How do you keep this from growing mold?

Wash it well with Dawn dish soap then turn it upside down on a paper towel. Also you can clean it with bleach & hot water.

According to the box it came in, it was designed in the US and manufactured in China.

Does the top push down? To save space?

Thank you for your question. Yes, the nozzle can be pushed down. Make sure to empty the peri bottle before retracting the nozzle.

Do these have a metal airlock on the bottom of the reservoir?

They do not. It’s just a rubber(I think) bottle that you fill and squeeze liquid out
