STILL GOING AFTER 3 YEARS! Car and home use! With Critical use...
Car use: -------- I still LOVE my Burger King Drive-thru style headset in the car for a few reasons: 1. I tend to call into conference calls and need every bit of fidelity to hear everyone in the room, while I'm driving 2. Don't want customers to hear road noice 3. Doesn't look like I'm talking my self when driving 4. When I'm upset on the phone, other drivers don't think I'm ragin' at them 5. Voice quality in my opinion is best for my audience and myself 6. I never lose my big ol' headset in the car or house, easy to find 7. Big ol' headset never needs charging 8. Reminds me of the charcoal hotdog shop I used to work at when I was a teenager (fun, laid back times with friends) Well, as I mentioned I need excellent listening and talking quality because I dial into conference calls from the car EVERY weekday as well as customer calls. I always come through crystal clear EVEN AFTER 3 YEARS of use and I can hear everyone in the room. The headset fits my head TIGHT (maybe I have a fat head), even after three years. I just tried to shake if off now and couldn't, my head actually started to hurt from trying. Tell ya what, I have a tape measure in the drawer... hold on, ok 22.5" circumference head. Not sure if that helps. I haven't read the other reviews, but I wonder if some folks find the headset too-tight. After a while, my ear does get a bit sore from being pressed tightly for so long, but it's just necessary as I want to hear the conversation well and for the headset to never fall off. Home use: --------- I give E-COMMERCE SOFTWARE PRODUCT DEMONSTRATIONS - around 400 a year, that require web meeting software and both hands free to work the mouse and keyboard(obviously, when I'm in the house, not driving!). Most of these demonstrations are received by the customer in a conference room on a conference phone - so they need to hear me CLEARLY!!! I can't stress this enough. Sometimes customers have a projector in the room as well that produces background noise - I can still usually hear well even with the hum/buzz of a project fan on the other end. There's always paper shuffling and even laptop fans, I can still make out voices and background conversations with this headset. Given the critical nature of these demonstrations, which usually make or break the deal - the headset must be reliable! A technical demonstration that experiences a technical problem can be a deal breaker. I have to hear and be heard at all times. This headset always comes through for me. Features I like: ---------------- 1. Pivoting earpiece - seems to really stayed glued to my ear, other headsets don't have this feature 2. Thick/solid cord. Definitely substantial, way more than my other headsets or headphones. 3. Full 5' cord (I measured) this is ideal length more me, any longer, it gets caught on shifter/armrest/home chair armrest and snags things when I'm walking around) 4. THICK, I mean THICK mic boom that adjusts well and stays where I adjust it 5. Mic boom stays up when I pivot it up. I do this often when I put the call on mute and need to talk to someone else or take another call 6. THICK head band (top of head), so even after 3 years, it's still as tight fitting as when I got it. 7. Durable - it's a SOLID headset. I use it every day. Many days, I put it on in the house, then walk out to the car - and the other way around. So it's in motion a lot. What don't I like: ------------------ I've spend some time digging here, but I can't really come up with anything I personally don't like. I was thinking maybe if it had a volume control or mute, but my last headset did and I never used it - and it made winding the cord up awkward. So no complaints. I'll probably order 2 more now that they're half the price as when I originally ordered them. I'm still thrilled after 3 years, they're a part of my life! I don't usually give 5-stars, but had to this time! Feels good! By the way, I needed an adapter for my new phones that now have 3.5MM plug (first it was a blackberry curve, then the Motorola Droid 3, this adapter works for both)so I ordered the adapter below at the same time as the headset. Both work great together, read my review on the adapter if you'd like: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0010VLYJE/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00

Perfect Headset for my Panasonic DEC phone set
I've seen several reviews which mention how this set doesn't seem to work with other phones (apparently mainly cell phones, it seems). I guess I'm not surprised to hear that, since the headsets I had previously, which I had used with cell phones, didn't work properly with my Panasonic DEC phone set. Likely, they're designed for different electrical requirements. I've used these with Panasonic DEC style phones exclusively, but two different models. In both cases, they've worked flawlessly and given far better sound quality than the phones themselves do (and they're no slouches, either!) I've just purchased several more, because, frankly, I've gotten so accustomed to using the headset with my home phone that I don't like to make calls the old-fashioned way anymore. I'll just clip the phone to my belt, put the headset on, and walk around getting near-perfect sound, barely noticing the headset at all. It's quite comfortable for me. I suppose for someone with a very large head, it might feel tight, and for someone with a very small head, it might feel "loose" and sloppy. You can't really adjust the "head size." The microphone seems to provide much better voice pickup quality than any other microphone I've had... with the exception of some studio-quality stand microphones. The cord is just the right length... not so long that it gets in the way but long enough to allow you to set the phone down on the desktop if you wish and not worry about tugging it off the edge. The little "collar clip" is my only real complaint about this phone... the little tab on the back where it attaches to the cord is a bit weaker than it needs to be... I snapped mine off a while back, and had to find a replacement for it. The replacement I found is a lot sturdier. (see the Audio-Technica AT8439 Clothing Clip for Cable)

A Solid Basic Headset For The Price
Bought this headset at the same time as the Panasonic KX-TG6511B cordless phone. I was looking for an inexpensive headset to use for about an hour per day and this appeared to fit the bill. After using it for just over a month, it is exactly what I was looking for. The good points: 1. Good clarity, both for myself and the people I call. 2. Good build quality - the reversible boom mike moves smoothly and the earpiece cover shows no signs of wear. 3. Reversible (see the bad points for why this is important to me). The bad points: 1. There's a lack of long-term comfort for me. No matter how I adjust the headband it becomes uncomfortable at either the head pad area and/or the ear pad sooner or later. This is not really a surprise given the price point (my previous basic headsets were the same way), but it is something to keep in mind if you plan on having this headset on for hours at a time. The fact the headset can be reversed helps with this since it allows you move the whole thing to the other side of your head, shifting the pressure points. Obviously comfort will vary by individual, but if you are planning on using this for hours at a time, you may wish to look into something at a more professional level or perhaps an in-ear bluetooth headset. 2. No volume control - you are reliant on the volume control offered by the phone you plug it into. In my case even that is not enough as it is loud even on the lowest phone volume setting. My solution to this is to shift the ear piece forward a bit to where it sits in front of rather than directly over my ear. Interestingly enough, I also find this position more comfortable. In sum, the headset represents a solid value - it does what I need without much fuss and at a great price. It does have some issues that I've noted which is why I can't give it five stars.

Excellent sound, but plan on replacing every two years.
About every 2 years I purchase a new Panasonic headset. The sound is EXCELLENT (very crisp and clear for both ends) and it is very comfortable to wear. The microphone, headband, and earpiece are all adjustable. I like to wear the earpiece on my left, while my husband prefers to wear it on his right. The microphone wand is flexible and can be easily bent to be closer to your mouth or moved father away if desired. I use this headset on a daily basis so that I can participate in long phone conferences for a volunteer organization that I work with while doing laundry, dishes, yard work, exercising, and even vacuuming (yes, the other end can still hear me with my quiet Shark vacuum). My little ones have picked up the headset from time to time and haven't been the most gentle (I tend to catch them pretty quickly before any real damage is done though), but I am very careful to treat the headset carefully myself. After having several sets, I have noticed that around 2 years of age the sound becomes a little staticky and the callers at the other end say that my voice is going in and out. It seems that the wires start to loose their connections over time and an electrical short occurs. I am rather tossed about this product. I wish that companies would make items that last a long time like they used to decades ago. (It seems that everything we buy now comes from China and tends to be cheaply made with the mindset that everything is disposable like a Dixie cup.) However, if this product was built well and intended to last for years, then the price would be MUCH higher. So, would I rather pay the higher price? Probably not for a headset that may become quickly outdated with technology changes of cell phones and bluetooth. I would only pay the extra money for a bigger ticket item that should not change with technology --such as a long lasting dishwasher, refrigerator, or washing machine. Where are these "Made in the USA" manufacturers? Our barely dipped in water, smelly clothing; spotted dishes; and frozen lettuce really need your return! Overall, I would say that the product is pretty good for the price. If you plan on replacing it every 2 years, you will not be disappointed. I would not spend more than $15 for a headset just because it appears fancier. It seems that all Panasonic headsets are pretty much the same and wear out about the same. Pros: Great sound, very comfortable, easy to adjust, no bluetooth radiation on your head, good price Cons: Inside wire connections wear out after 2 years of use

Worst headset ever, even with Panasonic phones. Not worth 10 cents, let alone 10 dollars.
There's a reason why, as of December, 2014, when I bought this, Amazon had stopped selling this headset, directly, but rather only through other vendors, due to people having returned pairs, so much so that Amazon considered it to be too bad to sell -- probably because they were losing money on replacing them. They had a big, fat warning about that, right on this page. I should have heeded that, because they were correct. I guess some people got "lucky" with their headsets, out-of-the-box, but it won't last long, I guarantee that. On my first attempt to use this piece of garbage, EVERY move of the boom microphone causes painful static, until you get it in just the right position. That makes for some very awkward openings to conversations, because it takes a minute or two to get it into good position. Because it was (and is, at the time of this writing), the top-selling headset on Amazon, I went ahead and got this, along with a Panasonic KX-TCA-400. That set is OK, but not comfortable, for long, and only does well when the boom is RIGHT next to your mouth, which is pretty awkward, too, and as with most headsets, it tends to shift, during use. At least is is usable, though. I mention that for a number of reasons regarding this KX-TCA60. First, I wouldn't even be able to use this piece of garbage for a few minutes, given that every adjustment requires both parties to hear loud static, with every shift and even the slightest boom adjustment. I've seen others here mention the "great quality," but clearly, they have never used a decent headset, must be comparing it to bad Bluetooth sets, or they got a pair in which the boom wires hadn't broken, yet, before they opened the box. If some pairs don't even make it to the first use, I doubt any set's wiring is durable enough for more than a few long conversations. Customers must have been pretty upset, to deal with returning a $10 item, so often. Second, even if one does get lucky with the wiring, the set is VERY uncomfortable, for a couple reasons: 1) the speaker's size is so small, it would barely fit a three-year-old's ear comfortably (which makes for more adjusting); and 2) you also have to put the boom right in front of your mouth, and with the ridiculously-large, spherical, clown-nose-like size and shape of the boom, it rubs against your mouth, all the time, causing more noise. It feels like you're trying to eat a little sponge. It is also visually annoyingand distracting, because from the user's perspective, AT LEAST, it looks like there's a black clown nose, right beneath your eyes. I suppose, if you have a lot of experience playing children's parties, you might not mind that, but if you aren't employed by a (literal) circus or entertain children, on the weekends, you'll be fantastically annoyed. This headset is unbearably bad, or will become so, with the static, very quickly -- even if you are a clown.

Just As Good As The Expensive Ones
This is a great headset for the price. While I do my house chores I like to call my family members who live out of town. This means I need a hands-free option. Using the speaker phone option is annoying so I use headsets. Pros: The sound is good. The price is good. It is comfortable enough that I can use it for hours without discomfort. It also works to reenact decades old telephone commercials. (Try saying, "Sorry AT&T." No? Well it amuses me.) Cons: The issues I have are the same issues I've had with every headset I've tried. The point where the wire meets the headset and the point where it meets the plug for the phone jack are weak. Over time it ends up breaking internally and becoming useless. The plastic slide part that enables it to be adjusted for different sized heads also is pretty easy to snap. However, I don't think that a headset can be manufactured that doesn't have those weaknesses. I like this one enough that, over the past number of years, I've ordered three of them. They last over a year for me, and that is with heavy use and toddlers running around thinking headsets are the greatest multipurpose toy in the world. I have used electrical tape to repair the plastic slide and it works since it doesn't need to be adjusted for others to use. When the one I have breaks beyond repair, I will be back here to buy another.

Full Endorsement!
Since I just ordered three more of these headsets, a review is warranted. The total number of units bought of this Panasonic model is now NINE, including two given as gifts. For myself as a trucker, hands free cellphone use is now the law via the Federal Department of Transportation (though I've been using the devices long before that mandate)and these headsets are now vital gear. Cheap and effective hardware is what I want and this Panasonic model delivers just that. I've never had a bluetooth hands free device because of the much much higher expense and the spotty performance of some models from what I heard (and not necessarily better performance in direct proportion to cost)and from the addition of another rechargeable device to carry and coddle....so I put up with the primitive headset wire that snags onto EVERYTHING. I've made this choice and learned to work with the wire snags...... More costly hard wired headsets that I've had have not worked longer or sounded better than this Panasonic model so I just forget about them when I need to restock the headset device. The habit has been to buy three and when one goes bad, I discard it and take a fresh one. The hard life of my Panasonic headset is always at least six months and maybe almost a year in the best case. Let me add that I ALMOST NEVER EVER use the cell phone without the headset in place. When I'm home or walking to and from, the device is plugged in the phone with the headset itself hanging from my neck......I now consider it physically archaic to hold a phone up to my ear in my fist and I almost never do it. Another thing that's nice, the foam microphone tip is GLUED in place and works real well eliminating wind noise during voice transmission. I frustrated with other headset models that had their foam mic tips soon stretch and slip off getting lost. This Panasonic headset doesn't lose the foam mic cover. One headset fails, I take a new one. Every single one worked fine right out of the package. There are lots of reviews for this apparently popular Panasonic headset including some negative, but my review is true to my needs and experience. Bottom line is this: USE A HANDS FREE DEVICE EVERYTIME, at least when you drive. The image of the modern American nitwit = a driver with fist to the ear talking on the cell phone.

Okay headset but not for the long-term
I just received my headset and used it for a few calls between my Panasonic KX-TGA660 land line handsest and a cell phone. I could hear the person on the other end very clearly. We switched phones and I was surprised how good it sounded on the other end. You wouldn't be able to tell someone was using this. The earpiece is foamy and fits nicely over my ear so it works to cancel out sound for that ear. I was concerned that a headset would dampen the sound quality or introduce crackle or static but this wasn't the case. Prior to purchasing this headset, I was considering a Bluetooth enabled earpiece but was concerned about remembering to charge it (or losing a call when I inevitably and inadvertently forget to charge it) and I was worried the sound quality would be poor based on prior experience with a Bluetooth-enabled receiver; in other words, "range" anxiety with respect to battery charge and sound. I like how you can leave the headset plugged into the receiver and it still rings when you get calls. You don't have to plug the headset in and unplug it each time. I wasn't totally aware of this at first, but the boom microphone that sticks out is adjustable (as stated in the description) but what it means is that you can bend it outward or inward from your mouth. Additionally, it has the flexibility similar to the refill cartridge inside a disposable pen. If you hold it for a sec it stays in the shape you bend it (except for curly Qs and such, of course). Two things I wish were better: I'm concerned the headband part is a little delicate and I'm going to be very careful with it because it's plastic. I wish I had another pair to bend a lot and put through the ringer so that I could get a sense of how careful to be, but I'll just play it safe and don't bend it too much. The plastic is also very stiff so I'm hoping that with long phone calls I don't get pinch pain on the other side. Besides those two items of concern I think this will be a great headset with long-term use. Update: 5-1-2015 A few months ago the plastic headband broke but I was still able to keep the headset on my ear. (My head is 7 3/8" so maybe my head is too big.) The sound also started cutting in and out; call recipients would complain my speech would cut out and couldn't hear me. Since the headset was cheap and lasted 16 months, I suppose I got what I paid for. However, I will probably purchase a different headset that hopefully lasts longer. I will probably try for an over the ear type.

Yo oigo bien y a mí me oyen bien.

Works Well For Hours a Day.
I have a Panasonic wireless handset for a number of years. Just recently, I've taken on a position where I can work from home. Needless to say, I'm on the phone alot. I've had these set for a number of months and on most business days, I'm on the phone for 2-3 hours a day. While basic, the headset has performed flawlessly. The cord length is ample. The headset rests comfortably on the ears for hours at a time. The sound is crisp and microphone is clear. The sheer simplicity of the headset is what I believe will make it last a fairly long time. There is no volume switch but that is easily controlled on the wireless handset. Also, there is no mute button but that is also easily controlled on the wireless handset. You can't beat the price.
