This is a great book for kids who can read French, especially ones who love adventure but resist more traditional books with more words and fewer pictures. This book is the basis for the popular American TinTin movie that came to theaters a few years ago. Do yourself a favor and read these.

Tintin The Secret of the Unicorn (inFrench)
I bought this to help my daughter improve her reading in French, and this has proved to be a very entertaining way to do it. We were both very impressed be the very high standard of the story-telling and of the illustrations. The story is both exiting and at times funny. We plan to read more of these!
