Due to a medical condition, I have a dry mouth which leaves me prone to bad breath. I've been using these PUR Probiotics for months and they seem to help but here are some things to know: *These are ORAL probiotics. You let them slowly dissolve in your mouth after brushing your teeth. I use them at bedtime. These are different than the probiotics that get absorbed in intestines that have encapsulation. The PUR probiotics are meant to be absorbed directly in your mouth and are not capsules. Having said that, the other type of intestinal probiotics can help with bad breath too. Just start slow. *These have a smooth texture and pleasant taste. I've tried a few other oral probiotics that are chalky and stick to your tongue and make bad breath worse. These don't stick. *They packaging states that they are gluten, dairy, and animal free. *For some of us, PUR Probiotics aren't miracle cures but they will help. I still have make sure my oral health is stellar, watch what I eat, and use a combination of other methods. These probiotics help a lot. A very dilute hydrogen peroxide rinse in the morning can help with tongue coating. Try 50/50 combo with water or even more water. Don't make the mixture too concentrated or it will dry out your mouth and make things worse. I only use about 80 water/20 hydrogen peroxide. *Yes, the price of these probiotics is crazy high. When I originally bought these, they were $29.99 which is still a lot but if you have chronic bad breath, you get desperate. I noticed that these are "100% Made in the USA" so perhaps quality is higher than other brands which would account for a higher price. They cost less if you order directly from the manufacturer but I wish Amazon would lower their price because it's more convenient. $39.99 for a month's supply is rough.

Ok wow, I didn't expect this to work instantaneously. I struggle with teeth. My dental hygiene up into my mid-twenties was abysmal, and now that I'm finally starting to recognize and fear the consequences of this, I've fallen into the dystopian economic rank of "the working poor" and I haven't had dental insurance in maybe eight years. My eroding childhood fillings and unidentified cavities are probably the bigger problem, but the superficial thorn in my side has been bad breath. Toothbrushing, mouthwash, and gum barely mask it and never for long. I've recently started a nightly regimen of: Floss thoroughly, brush teeth w/ cheap electric toothbrush, and then gargle with an alcohol-free fluoride toothpaste. I wait about 30 minutes for any/all antibacterial agents in the mouthwash to fade, and then I follow up with one of these probiotic pills, which I let slowly dissolve in my mouth right before bed. I wake up with my mouth tasting and smelling like... nothing. It's kind of a miracle product, for me. I've researched as much on this as I can find, and I think the success of these pills is probably going to vary based on the underlying cause of the halitosis along with how/when you use them. I think these must work for me because the bacteria that naturally populate my mouth are the kind that generate foul odors. By using toothpaste/mouthwash to eliminate THOSE bacteria, and then following up with these probiotics before the natural population of bacteria in my mouth can recover (gross), the odors are kept at bay for the entire following day. But I know some bad breath can originate in other places like the bloodstream or the gut, or can be caused by more severe forms of dental disease. Also, I think it'd be pretty useless if you just swallowed the pill whole or took one in the middle of the day right before chugging a cup of coffee or whatever. I'm experimenting a little right now, b/c I'm away from my home and I forgot to bring the probiotics with me. So I didn't take one last night, and I've noticed that my breath - while not back at full-force - has more of a tang to it, which I don't like. I wish there was some way to get these bacteria permanently thriving and reproducing themselves, within the natural biome that is my body. Desperation and lack of health care has driven me to products like this before, and it's an amazing feeling to find one that actually works to solve my problem. I hope the company stays honest and doesn't self-destruct or ruin it's own product in the future, trying to make a cheap buck.

I bought these after many dental procedures + antibiotics during surgeries etc. They seem to help! I wish the manufacturer did not use xylitol or stevia or peppermint, and that it was just the natural flavor. The additives seems unnecessary and maybe harmful to oral health before bedtime.

I underwent periodontal treatment and did not fully heal until after taking these specific oral probiotics strains: PUR ORAL Blis K12 & Blis M18. My periodontist was very impressed by the before and after results of my oral DNA test (test for specific pathogenic bacteria associated with periodontal disease). After much research, I stumbled upon the book Oral Probiotics by Case Adams and there within found his extensive research from microbiologists clinically demonstrating how oral probiotics can significantly improve not only your oral health but strengthen your immune system as well. Simply put, a healthy mouth is colonized with both probiotics and pathogenic bacteria. When it becomes imbalanced (from antibiotics, illness, etc.) the pathogenic bacteria can over colonize and take over causing inflammation and disease. You must address the underlying problem and re-colonize the body with probiotics. PUR Oral Probiotics was the absolute missing piece to my recovery. My hygienist & I saw significant improvement within 2 months of my taking this oral probiotic (I took it 2x/day and continue for preventive measures). My tooth pocket depth went from a 5.5 mm down to a 3 mm . My oral DNA bacteria had also dramatically improved as well. I have celiac disease which is correlated to both periodontal disease and intestinal permeability (for which I also take the PUR 50B probiotics for my intestinal health). After a desperate search, I finally found this quality product by PUR that is gluten free, dairy free (most oral probiotics have dairy as an ingredient), vegan, non-GMO and magnesium stearate free. It had everything that I insisted on in a clinical grade pure product. I was so happy when I found PUR and so grateful for their current up-to-date knowledge of probiotics, the integrity of their company and the stellar quality of their products! PUR

It does work, but to really be effective you really need to eat about 5 at a time makint it cost prohibitive.

These tablets work!!! I noticed my breath was a little rank after having tonsil stones and wearing a mouth guard when I sleep (oh so sexy) so I researched options and settled on this one. So glad I did!! Directions say to dissolve one tablet in your mouth at bedtime and boom, you’re done. It doesn’t taste bad (it’s very mild, barely has any taste to it, totally palatable) and it dissolves fairly quickly, too. I noticed a difference right away. I got laid this last weekend and felt totally confident that my breath was sweet and fresh. I put my mask on beforehand to make sure I passed the breath test and I passed with flying colors!! Bonus, it also helps sore throats. I had a sore throat the other night and I woke up feeling fine after taking the tablet the night before. The probiotics are clearly doing their job and killing off bad bacteria. Bottom line...buy it!!! I just bought two more bottles because I don’t want to run out of this stuff. It’s a little on the expensive side, but what you get in return makes it totally worth it.

I want to report that I've had great success with this product for my chronic ear problem. I found it after I came across a report on a clinical trial of BLIS12 on children who had repeated ear infections, and I wondered if it might be helpful also for adults. My ear doctor agreed that I could give it a try, and since Pur appeared to be the closest I could find to the formulation used in the test, I ordered it. By the way, I'm not just an adult, but a senior citizen, with chronic mastoid infections from mastoid operations 63 and 45 years ago, so these are long-standing infections. I've been using boric acid powder for about 20 years with some success, in order not to be continually on antibiotics, which only work for a short period and then have to be repeated. But I still had persistent drainage and every now and then there would be flare-ups. Well, it's now 85 days since I started taking this, and my ears have almost stopped their perpetual draining and are much more comfortable. Also, there have been no flare-ups and no side effects. Not only that, but when I visited my doctor a couple of weeks ago, he found that my ears required much less cleaning, and he told me that they're definitely better. This isn't a clinical trial of course, but I can report that Pur's Oral Probiotics with BLIS12 really work for me!
