Best Pocket Knife I've Ever Owned
Being a real man means carrying a real knife. And it also means that the knife one carries need not be a camouflaged, Navy SEAL issued survival knife with a 6 1/2" blade. Like all real men instinctively know, discretion is the key to not being laughed at by other men and as such, for a real man, this is the knife to own. Discretion without sacrificing function is the key attribute that makes this knife stand out. I know that there are a lot of great knives out there and that people have their allegiances. But, if you are in the market for a sub-$40 daily driver knife that feels like it should cost about $100, this is the knife for you. I first came across the Kershaw Scallion a couple of years ago when I found one on clearance and figured it was worth a shot. From the day I bought my first one, I have not carried any other pocket knife. Since then, I have bought several other Kershaw knives and I have been equally impressed. I just picked up this blue one to replace the black one ( Kershaw 1620 Scallion Folding Knife with SpeedSafe ) I lost last week. The color is way better than I had imagined it would be. I like it so much, I'm going to buy the OD Green one too. The speedsafe opening on this little thing is amazing. Unlike some others, I've not run into issues keeping the blade on this knife surgically sharp. This knife sees a lot of action and to that end, I sharpen it about once every 2-3 weeks. It holds an edge very well and the blade is sturdy. Keep in mind, I'm not using this thing to fend off bear attacks or split wood. That would be ridiculous, but nonetheless, there are people out there who buy a knife, use it as a hammer and then write a review complaining about how weak the blade is and how terrible it is at holding a edge. For anyone looking to pick up a very reliable, very compact pocket knife at a very reasonable price, I cannot recommend this knife enough.

Quality
Bought it to keep in my pocket. Not too heavy easy to lock or unlock and easy to flip the blade out for use. Just the right size. Very well made.

The best knife I've ever had
Believe it or not, I found this knife on the beach in NY. I cleaned it up and it was just the perfect knife. It is small, has a slight curve to the blade. The blade itself is nice and thick, yet comes to a much more narrow edge than you'd expect. It's clipped to my pocket all the time (so much that I've had to mail it back from the airport when i realized I had it on at TSA!) I liked it so much that I bought one as a gift for a friend, and it's now HIS favorite knife. Then, disaster struck, and I lost it. So, I just used my old folding click-on and was just endlessly frustrated with it. Why? The "assist" on opening it is KEY. You don't realize it, but 90% of the time when you need to cut something, you're holding it in your hand. So, you really need a knife that you can open one-handed. This knife is a spring in it that is compressed when you close it. It's not like a switchblade, but about as close as you can legally get! You just push on the edge of the handle and pull it back a bit and the blade snaps out and locks. (I'm on a boat all the time, so quite often I can't just let-go to open a knife. ) Anyway, I practically fell of the damn boat because I was screwing around with my other pocketknife trying to cut a zip-tie off a crab trap. I broke down and bought another one. (in the photos) I am really really glad I did. What's funny is about 2 weeks later, my 10yr old comes walking into my bedroom and says, "hey, I found this in my room" : it was my original knife from that beach in NY! Now, I've got 2 and I'm keeping both!

This knife is amazing, smooth operation
Wow what can I say, This knife is amazing, smooth operation, and durable. I use mine every day, and before this knife I would only buy Spyderco or sog. Don't get me wrong They are still great knives but for the price durability and functionality this is my go-to knife. I run a wide variety of emergency calls and situations where I need to cut through different types of material. This knife cuts through everything nice and smoothly. You can even polish It Up by using the top of your window in your car to keep The working Edge nice and smooth. I initially bought it for my wife but had to keep it for myself bahaha. All I have to say is once you give this knife a chance you're going to love it. I am surprised that it's so cheaply priced. I'll probably buy a couple of them before they realize they could sell this product for a lot more. Had to see that it's American-made is just icing on the cake.

A great EDC knife
I should probably stop writing reviews for Kershaw knives since I've become a Kershaw fanatic. Their Chinese-made knives are good, but their US made knives are great. This little scallion is a perfect every day carry (EDC). It is US made, small, ergonomically designed, assisted opening, holds an edge, and the color is stunning. I have bought several Kershaw's over the years, most of which I've given away to close friends or family members. I've snapped the tip off of one (not this style) but I learned that thin, hardened steel should not be used to pry. Kershaw replaced that blade for me for just $10. Give one a try. You won't be disappointed.

Great made in the USA proud knife.
First off, its kind of funny I'm writing a review on this knife. Its one of the cheaper ones i own and I never did a knife review. I own several Spydercos, Benchmades and other USA made knives. The Ken Onion designed knives always appealed to me. I have been eyeing up some of the USA made Kershaw's for a while. I do own a ZT 0770CF which is basically a high end heavy duty Kershaw. I wanted to add a few smaller knives to my collection, I chose the Scallion and a Case I ordered at the same time. Back to the Scallion. Good looking knife, well made, good American quality. The color is not navy blue. It actually looks close to the color in the picture. A cross between royal blue with a little electric (Dodge truck blue) mix. Nice. The blade, pretty sharp out of the box, only some of my Spydercos had it beat there. Blade shape is kind of cool. Never sharpened one with a re-curve belly though. It is not the same blade you see in the picture. It has the three added holes like some I have seen on a google search. They look like they were added for design purpose only. I have seen other reviews about it not flipping open all the way. Let me say that some (most) pocket knifes come a little stiff out of the box. I added a few drops of Benchmade blue lube, worked it for a few minute's and it works like a charm, smooth and precise. Not to powerful smooth acting torsion spring and easy to close. 5 stars so far. Star off for pocket clip. The picture shown has a silver pocket clip. The one I received had a black oxide pocket clip. I normally like a black clip (deep pocket) but on this knife the sliver looks much classier and suits the knife better. Its kind of ironic, the knives I have like some of the Benchmade and Spyderco I really wish they had the black oxide clip that wears much better. They usually come with a black painted clip that looks like crap in a few months. I just bought a $200 dollar Benchmade 943 black on black beauty that came with a crappy standard regular carry black pocket clip. I got my hands on cool Benchmade black painted deep carry. I was pumped, looked great on that knife. Well i dropped it off the table and it chipped. Black oxide would not of happened. Sorry for my ramble I'm a mechanical designer and anal about these things. Kershaw clip is less to be desired. First off too big for the knife, one side carry only and tip down only. I like tip up for the reason when you withdraw it from your pocket its ready to deploy, tip down requires doing a 180 degree flip in hand before deployment (could cause drops). Just my personal preference but like I said im anal. One suggestion to Kershaw if your listening. Go with a wire type semi-deep pocket clip (stainless) on this knife or a smaller one like on the ZT 0770CF and I think you will sell more. And if you need a mechanical designer or consultant look me up. Overall if your looking for a smaller great American made knife, great design and quality I would definitely buy this knife. I know i will be buying more USA made Kershaw knifes in the future. Added: After further review I can see they had some limitations with the pocket clip. With the curvature of the clip flowing with the shape of the knife you could not reverse it. With the safe lock on the right side and lanyard hole no tip up deep carry.

Ausgezeichnet!
Empfehlenswert!
