I'm 70, recovering from a dozen years of major health problems and accompanying weight gain. I wanted a piece of exercise equipment that is not too costly, is easy on the joints, and is quiet enough to watch shows or movies while using it. This is perfect. We moved a chair and set up the Gazelle Freestyle in front of the TV. Instead of sitting through an entire movie or show in the evening and sometimes snacking, I get on the Gazelle. It's paying off. The Gazelle Freestyle is sturdy, well-made, quiet, and it doesn't need a huge space. It weighs 46 lbs. It folds easily and has wheels on the back to aid in moving it. It has a battery (included) powered display for time, distance, etc., as noted in description. On unboxing, the included water bottle was crushed between two of the metal frame parts. The machine itself was packed well though the box was flimsy and beginning to come apart. Thankfully all the hardware was there and the glider arrived unscathed. The Gazelle exercises both upper and lower body. Watch the DVDs included for ideas on how to get the most out of your machine. The videos are also available on YouTube. Once over initial fear of losing my balance, I now push it to the max to get my heart rate up and sweat. I'm stronger and have dropped a few pounds after a few weeks of use. My husband started using it too. It has helped improve his strength and balance as well. You can definitely get a good cardio workout on the Gazelle. Assembly: Initially I laid the parts out with the footpads upside down to the illustration. The printed directions aren't clear enough for me. I found the Gazelle assembly video on YouTube, pausing it at each step for this model and carefully watching how it went together. Once the cables and footpad sections were laid out correctly, my husband helped push the two sides of the frame together. It would probably be simple for most people to assemble. If it's placed on carpet, put a mat under the feet to prevent wear. In a nutshell, this is a reasonably priced, sturdy, quiet, low-impact exercise machine that can give you a good cardio workout and some gentle strengthening.

Best machine ever
Love this! It’s my first gazelle... I’ve seen information about it on HSN since they sell a different model, I chose this one because it’s low impact and it seems to have a little more than the freestyle edge for only $10 more, I think it is a great deal, I have a hard time with exercise machines, I used to have a treadmill I’ve tried biking I’ve tried stepping I’ve tried a balance ball, trampoline, you name it, but this is so easy and low impact there is no pain on my bones or my joints I’m not sweating a whole bunch and it’s actually really fun to use, I put it in front of the TV and I am set, it is very easy overall especially since it’s hard for me to do much with chronic fatigue and Lyme disease, I need something easy, and this is just like floating in air! I’m a BIG fan!!! Now I wish I would’ve just upgraded to getting pistons so as I get stronger I can adjust my work out.... maybe in a year I’ll upgrade. It does make a tiny ticking noise, I’ve notice other complaints about the noise, mine is a very low click, and I watch tv so I don’t pay attention to it :) but in my eyes for what I need right now, it’s PERFECT!!! I love I get to do all my stretches on it too. I can’t say enough good things, this is by far the best machine I’ve had. Oh and super easy to put together! Just heavy so a bit awkward.

Nice, few issues though.
This is quite sturdy and not difficult to assemble. My issue with it is that it squeeks. I keep trying to fix it but it only last a few sessions then start up again. Another problem I have is that with limited space in my small apt, I need to fold it up. It folds well and with ease(though quite heavy) but it has no clips to keep it fold/ hold it close. If not Laing against something or propped up carefully it will fall down. This has happened to me and broke my mirror. Other than those 2 things the machine is fine. You can get a pretty good workout if you use it properly. You can use as low impact or to your liking.

Family Gazelle Exercise WhatsApp Group
My sister & I both got Gazelle Edges, & we love them! I noticed that the upgraded model, Gazelle Freestyle, was on sale so I sent her the link. (The Freestyle holds 300lbs & has 2 additional features: the pulse meter & cup holder. The Edge holds 250lbs & has no pulse meter nor cup holder.) She decided to buy the Freestyle for her daughter's birthday gift. So I also gave it as a gift to my daughter & son-in-law for their birthdays. Then we convinced my dad to buy a Gazelle Freestyle too. But my sister & I are 100% satisfied with our Edges. We've formed an exercise motivation/accountability group on WhatsApp. My daughter is making T-shirts for our 'Team Gazelle,' plus she made a calendar graphic to keep track of our daily workouts. Anyone who does at least 5 minutes on the Gazelle gets a colored dot on the calendar date for that day, but we usually go much longer than 5 minutes. It's very motivating! We can also get a dot for doing other kinds of exercise that day. This is the motivation we've all needed to stick to our daily exercise routine! We encourage each other & it's fun. The Gazelle is not hard to assemble if you follow the directions to the letter going step-by-step. If you don't, you might have to take it apart & redo it. My dad's Gazelle didn't come with instructions, so he found a video about how to assemble it on YouTube. If you have limited space, you can quickly fold Gazelle flat & stash it behind your desk, under your bed, behind a door, or in the closet. If you have bad knees or a bad hip, this is the perfect piece of no-impact exercise equipment to give you a good workout. But start with only 5 minutes a day & then gradually increase it. I've lost pounds & inches from Gazelle without overdoing it. It feels deceptively easy, but it really does a lot for your body & is very effective. I used to be a personal trainer, so I appreciate that the Gazelle works for all ages & fitness levels, & can be as easy or challenging as you want it to be. The DVD's are great! I think it's excellent for seniors who have bad hips or knees. My dad had double knee surgery 2 years ago & he is able to Gazelle daily.

The best exercise machine ever, bar none
Ah, the Gazelle! This is the third one I have owned after one was given away and one literally wore out. I will keep buying these forever. The Gazelle is the best exercise machine ever, bar none. It is also the most fun! As a child, did you ever stand up on a swing? (Maybe kids aren't even allowed to do stuff like that anymore). The Gazelle is almost as fun as standing up on the swing and floating through the air. Like swinging, it is darned good exercise and you will soon have the best rear and legs you've ever had plus more stamina. This Gazelle is my favorite of the ones I have owned--absolutely quiet and smooth. It was slightly challenging to assemble; if my memory serves me, the previous ones I had came already partly assembled in the box and needed less work than this one. No matter, it's still a great machine and I am already loving it. My only caveat with the Gazelle would be to check the top and bottom of the cables every month or so. My last one was always quite noisy and I suspected that one of the cables was a fraction longer than the other. After a few years of use, I happened to notice that the cables were wearing through! So, check for that from time to time. Aside from that, best exercise machine--and most fun machine!--ever.

Quality workout without the joint pain
First, it arrived faster than expected & was well-packaged. The instructions were at times vague, so I referenced the images often. The hardware was all included, and it was assembled in 45 minutes (could easily be less time for someone stronger than me!). I tried it out right away & loved it— no pain to my knees! Like gliding on air. Seemed a tad wobbly but I attribute that to it sitting on carpet instead of on a treadmill mat/hard surface. My 200+ lb. spouse & 5yo also tried it out, both with ease. I can feel the work in my hamstrings & hip flexors already, & it’s definitely going to work quads & bum. I enjoyed it to much that I was excited to get back on it the next day. Really work the $$, & I’m honestly surprised it doesn’t cost more given the crazy inflation we’ve seen lately. Folds up nicely too! And is sturdy yet light enough for a petite 5’4” out-of-shape human to fold. Recommend to anyone, especially someone looking to get into shape/back into shape/with joint pains.

Fun low impact work out
I just got this product. I wasnt sure if really wanted to get but went ahead after talking to some friends who knew someone who had one . I needed something low impact so i can stay moving and healthy. I watched videos on working out on it so would have an idea of how to actually use it to benefit me. I love it . It is easy but i feel like i get a good workout. 30 mins following what I learned in videos , im exhausted. My muscles hurt , not my bones and joints but my muscles. This was worth the money . I will keep updating how its going every few months . So July 2022- still love it , still workout 6 of 7 days a week on it . 30 + mins a time . Love it still easy on joints and it keeping my weight stable now . It did squeak so hubby oiled it and no more squeaks. I really do enjoy it to work out on still . I feel is fun easy work out and will continue. Makes nice impact on my 10,000 steps a day as well . December 2022-still using it 5-6 days a week . I still enjoy using it . I typically put a movie on and go . I feel good when using , no joint pain. My kids have started using it when they are over . They say its too easy but i do notice they use it every time they are over so my guess is they enjoy it as well . March 2025 - i still enjoy it , i still use it 5-6 days a week for 30 minutes . Its so easy and doesn’t hurt my joints . My youngest uses it to keep active when not doing sports and likes it because it can be easy or you can lean a bit forward or backwards to make it harder . I am still maintaining my mobility and weight is still staying good .

No way to increase resistance
The good- Using the video on YT the assembly was easily done by myself. Seems sturdy and easy to move around on a carpeted floor using plastic furniture sliders. The computer has been upgraded from the one in video. ROM is excellent. The bad- Just tooooo easy. I guess I should have ordered the one with the resistance attachments, but the reviews said that this one had a fair amount of resistance. No. I've tried 5 lb ankle weights but very little added resistance. If you think a walk around the block is exercise, then this would be good for you, especially in inclement weather. If you want a workout like riding a bike up Deer Creek Canyon, forget it. EDIT: There was another person here who found a clever way to add resistance using a bungee cord or two. By wrapping the bungee cord(s) around the arms I was able to add a fair amount of resistance. By moving the bungee cord up or down I can adjust the resistance- the lower the bungee the higher the resistance.

Love it!
I was a little concerned by the reviews that said it wasn’t as good as the Gazelle from 20+ years ago. As soon as I got on it felt exactly like the one my mother had in the 90’s, so that’s not an issue. It’s the perfect machine for me: You can work out at a pace that suits you, whether you want an easy workout or a high heart rate workout. Water bottle holder holds my cellphone and tv remote as well as my water. What’s not to love!

Nice sturdy glider!
This product was delivered within 10 days of ordering and I live in Ontario, Canada. It was easy to assemble and is sturdy. Mine does not make any noise as of yet and I have had it for two months. I am not use to much exercise and when I go a mile and a half to two miles I do work up a sweat. One mile on the glider takes me about 30 minutes. I like the holder on the side of this unit as it has a place for the water bottle and another narrow section which holds the TV remote at the same time. It is a little hard to fold up and move but is doable. I am satisfied with this purchase.

Monitor does not stay put, so does not work! A good exercise tool!
Great price! Although the pulse computer does not work, i decided to keep the Gazelle anyway. Took forever to put it together. It’s a good tool for losing wait!
