Royal Duster®, Premium Genuine Ostrich Feather Duster 14 inch

I did a comparison of 2 feather dusters I bought from the same company and was told they came from the same supplier. I have never seen one as huge and fluffy as the first one I bought about 25 years ago. Flylady had some special made, but my old one is many times better. THIS one says it is 14". I have not measured, but it looks as represented in the photos, other than they did not quite capture the quality of the feathers. They are EXACTLY what anyone should want in a small duster. The price was reasonable, but for a huge one, it would probably cost $60 to get LONG feathers of this quality. I like having small and large dusters. If, as manufacturer suggests, you use one to dust your car between car washes, be sure to have one dedicated for car exterior use. There are times I like to dust with a dry or damp microfiber cloth, but Ostrich feather dusting is my favorite. You can stick the handle into the wand attachment of your vaccum cleaner for extended reach. I think a much bigger, longer-handled duster is a must-have tool, but this will do in a pinch. It does need some special care, may need washing occasionally. Dust before vacuuming and periodically tap the duster handle against your shoe to knock excess dust off onto the floor, where it can be vacuumed up. If it sheds slightly, just vaccum up fragments. This is "economy" level, but a good deal. I found the unfinished handle smooth enough, and comfortable. There is a hole in case you want to thread string through the handle to hang it to store. Never buy a chicken feather duster for dusting. They are good cat toys, comforters for baby chicks, and make neat "faux finish" designs when used to paint. I can't recommend this highly enough. If you check out you tube, Feather Duster Comparison Lydia Hubbell, you will see the 2 I got from Jeff Campbell's "speed cleaning" company (I have his cleaning books, too). If anyone ever finds one like my old one, let me know in comments. I am curious about why such LARGE high quality dusters seem no longer in production. Libman duster seemed inferior to this item, and Flylady's was bigger, but nowhere like my old one. This is an eco-friendlier alternative to swiffer dusters and other disposeables. This is perfect for a child to dust non-fragile items, and baseboards.

Alright, we all seen these in cartoons with the French maid dusting around. I always thought it was a joke, but decided to give it a shot since swiffer dusters and other types of products get VERY expensive! To my surprise... this WORKS! And it works GOOD! See, the ostrich feathers have some sort of electrical property that attract dust which makes this function to remove dust from everything you swipe it on. Maybe I wouldn't do it on a really horrible cobweb filled haunted house, but for a normal weakly dusting it's excellent. The size is good and the feathers are fluffy (as you can attest from my photo). It's sturdy and should last years of use. The only thing that turned me off at first was the zoo smell (it's real feathers guys) but it got away after the first time. Now it doesn't smell like anything. Once you're done dusting, just rinse it under tap water. Let it dry (takes a few hours) upside down and you're good to go with it again. Buy this once, you'll save a LOT of money over time.

I just got this duster out of my mailbox about 20 minutes ago; I’ve already dusted three bedrooms, including all TVs l, computer monitor, PC, keyboard desks, dressers.. works so good I continued in the hallway and kitchen lbvs The feathers attract all the dust. I just watched the dust disappear, didn’t even see it fall, fly in the air, just straight to the feathers. I went outside to vigorously shake it out—no loose feathers or anything like that. When it arrived it was sealed in plastic assuring me that it was clean and unused. I ordered one about a month ago from Aldwin and it was a piece of crap so I had to return it. this one right here is perfect. Nothing I would change about it! I think I will order another one right away and hopefully I will receive the same quality on the second feather duster! Looks just as pictured; it did look bigger after I actually used it. I took my video immediately after taking it out of the plastic, so it hadn’t had a chance to fill out. The handle is thick and sturdy. I love that as well. *edit- I just received my second duster and it’s just as good as the first!

I first bought the Ddzmz duster at twice the price of tbis one, and was so disgusted at the cheap quality and stiff feathers I sent it back. This one's half as expensive and ten times as good, with a thick head of feathers that are delicate enough to not knock over items. HOWEVER, the handle is ridiculously short, at only 6 inches (it really should be 10" to be more comfortable in your hand). And in truth it's only 13" even if you measure to the tip of the feathers. Still, it's by far the best of the under $20 dusters I've tried from Amazon.

I have a very head strong dog, no matter what it is if it is low enough for her to snatch she takes it and usually chews it up. Well my housekeeper left her feather duster in the reach of my dog and I later found the thief happy as a pig in mud chewing up the feather duster. Of course I wanted to replace it so I got on Amazon and started searching. I purchased this feather duster after reviewing all the pos and cons for each duster. sold on Amazon. After reading the bad reviews I was hesitant to purchase any of them.. Let me clear up a few of the nah sayers comments. 1. Many reported a smell. When I got this duster I feared an awful smell would waft out. I was pleased this duster doesn't smell not even a slight oder from being shipping in a plastic wrap. 2. Many complained about the feathers being bad, sparse and falling out. I was ecstatic when I pulled it out of the plastic wrap that it was shipped in. The duster is exactly as pictured on the sell page. It is full, perfect feathers and no loose feathers. I am so pleased with this duster and would recommend that anyone looking to purchase a feather duster buy this one you won't regret it.

Kinda bummed, my handle wasn’t glazed so it’s rough and doesn’t feel good. Looks like some glaze got dropped on it and the rest of the handle is unfinished. Some of the tips of the feathers were melded together, I’m not sure if something sticky (like awry glaze?) got on it or if the feathers got melted together. They’re separating out and I was able to use it successfully, but it doesn’t feel royal at all. :(

My gosh I find more and more and more that everything old-school is so much better (other than asbestos and lead paint etc. lol) but I mean I have been wasting so much money on swiffers that always fling more dust than they catch and never stay fluffy. I dusted my entire 4th floor/attic with one of these and all the DUST ALLLLL OF IT so easily swept up and actually locked in. Swiffer has no clue what locked in means when describing their products. Their very expensive and constantly replacing dusters when this was 6-10 bucks and has been going strong for 6 months and done 150% better than any other newer market brands

I can't say much more, it does its job well! Pick up dust nicely and easy to be clean out after use. The feathers are so soft and fluffy even after use (it's been aprrox. 3 months) I would recommended this over the single use duster, saves you a lot of money!

Very effective in terms of cleaning
