First it takes quite a while to get it properly heated up, but I did follow the instructions and took the hour and different heat intervals to warm it up a few times. Each time it did cook the food well but it was way too salty and you couldn't possibly eat it. I was not able to return the item due to Amazon policy that I missed or I may not have bought in the first place. So I worked with the manufacturer with my issues, they did respond promptly in the beginning and shared a 16 page guide that basically walked me through all of the same steps, which did not satisfy my issues. I asked about a refund/return and shared my order number and then everything went silent and now I am stuck with this product, which I will be donating to a local thrift store. My advice is to do your homework on this item, compare with others and check return policies. I hate to waste things, so this was a waste of food, time and money in using so much heat to get it up to cooking temp. Update to my review 09.18.2023: the manufacturer did refund my purchase and I thought it was important to note, thank you.

The salt block looks ok but the "steel tray" is not. The edges of the tray sharp indicates low quality of workmanship. Will try to cook using the salt block later.

Bought this as a gift for my brother-in-law the “chef”. He was excited to use it although I don’t know if he has yet. Seemed of very good quality.

Followed the instructions given with this product and was taking hours to slowly heat this in our oven. Then it exploded all over our stove!!! Thankfully it didn’t break the oven window!
