When used with a tabletop drill press, this device worked great! Even pressure. Accurate radius.

Just recently I acquired 2001 Mexican Fender Strat. The guitar was good but the frets were (ob)used to the point that crowning wasn’t the option so I decided to change frets. This kit was very helpful. I used it with my drill press. It made the job much easier and precise.

Build quality is excellent and finish is beautiful. Inserts did fit tight due to a tiny burr from threading the hole for the set screw. Not a defect. Two seconds with a small file fixed that minor problem. Very impressed with it.

I had a problem with a raised fret, didn't need a fret job, so instead of leveling, I used this to tamp the fret into place. Worked great! Saved a lot of time and money.

Seems well made. Sturdy enough to tap frets in. Collets have groove so they don’t slip off fret when using. Radius of collets were accurate.

Deciding looks pretty but was not manufactured correctly they needed to do the stamping 1st before they did the milling for the radius And plating when they stamped the identifier it displaced the metal so you have to mill the receiver inside the holder or the outside of each caul or the caul will not fit. poorly thought out mfg ,looks pretty, if they fixed their manufacturing problems they would have a decent product

Ho rifatto la tastiera di una chitarra acustica. L'ho utilizzato solo per una parte di tasti, utilizzando un sergente da falegname per fare pressione, senza motare il perno cilindrico in dotazione. Penso si possa usare anche "a martello" ma bisogna avere l'accortezza di appoggiare il manico su di un supporto solido che non danneggi il legno. Ideale avere la pressa, ma allora si deve mettere in conto una spesa rilevante che non giustifica il cambio tasti "fai da te". Pertanto la valutazione è per me interlocutoria, non mi è stato indispensabile, alla luce dell'esperienza fatta, non lo comprerei più; ho fatto un buon lavoro usandolo poco e solo perché l'avevo comperato.

Much better quality than the gold plated sets in here. You get fewer cauls, but these actually work. The grooves for the frets are all the way through the cauls and not only partially as the other sets. I recommend this set
