Unleashes Creativity Like Nothing Else!
I ordered Wreck This Journal for my daughter, and it’s quickly become one of the most fun and freeing books she’s ever owned. If your child (or even you!) struggles with perfectionism or the pressure of a blank page, this journal completely flips that mindset on its head. Instead of “keeping things neat,” the book encourages you to color outside the lines, rip pages, paint with coffee, and basically break all the traditional rules of journaling. It’s silly, surprising, and deeply creative. My daughter loves the prompts and has started seeing her creativity as something fun and wild—not something that has to be “right.” This isn’t just a journal—it’s an invitation to let go, make mistakes, and enjoy the process. Highly recommended for kids, teens, and even adults who want to reignite their imagination. A great gift too!

not your trad journal
bought 4 for nieces + nephew; one has to be open-minded about this coz it's not that conventional type of journal. well, pouring your creative juices are encouraged; if you're "old-school"/ traditional just guide (the teens) maybe to not interpret some entries literally. this is a way of expressing oneself -not to be scared, have fun, be artistic or creative and not take everything seriously. from where i came from, this is the first encounter of such unconventional concept.

Fun, but Gross.
My daughter and I bought this as a bonding, mother-daughter project and it is fantastic! We cracked each other up with our creative ideas. Some of the projects were really fun. Others were just......dumb. And pointless. And gross. The dumb. Tie this journal to a string, swing it around and hit the walls - Hey, didn't your Mom teach you not swing things around and hit the walls? And who's going to fix the holes you put in the drywall? If you decide to try this activity, you'd better have a job so you can pay a handyman to repair the damage you cause. Find a way to wear the journal. - No. I work for the public so that's not going to fly. Roll the journal down a hill - I live in Texas, not in the Hill Country. We don't have hills. The pointless. Pick up the journal without using your hands - I'm busy. I don't have all day to try and levitate this thing with my mind. Figure out how to freeze the page - Okay. Did that. Now what? Take the journal into the shower - I realize the point is to wreck the journal, but I don't wreck the whole thing to the point where I'm can't do anything else with it. No. I'm not doing that. Slide the journal down a long hall - *blink* *blink* The gross. Rub the page on a dirty surface. - This will mean the end of the activity because now I'll have to throw it away. Place sticky things here. - NO!! I'm not doing to put sticky things in here that will attract bacteria...and ants.....and anteaters. Tongue painting? - Now not only will I have an anteater problem, I will probably die from a horrible stomach virus. Chew on this page - see above. Stain log - STOP IT!!!! Gah! What is it with all the gross things? Maybe it would have appealed to me when I was 7 and I 'd never heard of bacteria. Still, some of the projects were poignant and thought provoking, like writing internal dialogue and making the page a sign, and they bonded my daughter and me in profound ways. Some of them were fun and made us laugh. Drawing with glue was really fun, as was attaching a magazine page and circling the words that appealed to us. Another fun thing we learned was that there are web pages devoted to people who have done this activity and have done some incredibly creative and beautiful things with it. But do your projects before you look at the because it will make you feel inadequate to see them first and realize you can never do something that beautiful. I would still recommend the book. My daughter and I have had a lot of fun with it. Just skip over the gross parts and have fun with the parts that you enjoy.

Granny loves it
I love to journal but I find myself running out of topics... In the past many of my journals were just gripe books... Not a legacy I wish to leave... I see several other reviews talked about purchasing it for their kids or grandkids,. Not me I'm 60 years old and I bought it for myself... I love it!... I think my kids think I've gone mad sometimes when they see me totally around or setting it on fire or something... LOL... I had to grow up awfully fast as a kid... Not complaining it is what it is... But this is a perfect book to give yourself an excuse to do the things that maybe you couldn't do when you were younger... I have bought my book use due to financial reasons... But I have no complaints there either it was in great condition... I ended up buying several more of her books I should go ahead and reivew but they're all good... I haven't got to the end yet... Kind of jumped around in a couple more for other books too that Miss Smith wrote... My husband has cancer and is homebound... But we find ourselves enjoying some of the activities together put tickly out of her books scavenger hunt... One of the book's you supposed to bury a page or hide a page in the neighbor's yard... I'm so looking forward to that my neighbors think I've gone mad anyway... If that's activity involves the police I will post a footnote as to how it went lol... I have no shame in saying that I am quite an adult at least in body maybe not in spirit... And I love this book... It's a permission book to do what the heck you want to do anyway without really hurting anybody... I am a bit envious of something creativity I have seen on Pinterest... I suggest you maybe check it out a little bit prior to trashing in your book... Gives you a little bit more idea what can be done Thinking Out of the Box Etc... Not wanting to be outdone on think of a way to dispose of this page today I set it on fire LOL just a bit of the page no fire department involved... I've been terrified of fire since I was a kid... It was some kind of a release of that fear for me... My sister had a bad fire that I lost my nephew in... I was just a kid myself so I'm sure my fear of fires quite understandable... This book is long time coming to me I wish I would have had something like this years ago but Grateful I found found it now... And I'm a neat freak by the way... If your lease bit interested in writing ..keeping a journal... Or want to be looking quite mad to the neighbors as you hide a page from a book in their yard..get it.. not for your kids.. not for your grandkids but for yourself or maybe for granny... I have no doubt any free-spirited person would enjoy it

info/review :)
Why I Bought it: I bought this because my friend recommended it to me and I've heard a lot about this journal. Information about it: This is by far the the most unique "Journal" I have ever bought. Be warned that this is not your typical journal. This is more of an art journal. You will not write a lot in it, you will mostly draw in it. Who is it for? This is perfect for both kids and adults. A great gift for artists too! What is it? This is a journal/Art Journal however You will have to "Wreck" it meaning it may ask you to rip, burn, or throw the journal! Who ever thought of such a thing! As I said before, not a lot of writing and definitely not a diary. What I think about it: I absolutely love it. Great to pass time and I like the fact that you don't have to go in order Meaning you get to pick what page you want to do. I've seen people take up to a year or more to complete theirs. I also like the fact that no two journals are the same. If you need some help finding inspiration or want to get a closer look, type in "Completed Wreck This Journal" and you'll see what I mean. Definitely a great buy and shipping was fast! -----Good Luck Journaling! Chloe
