I've never made an Amazon review before, but I feel like this needs to be said. I have been looking for a brown waterproof clean mascara for as long as I can remember, and when I came across this one, I was skeptical because usually in the makeup industry, when we are met with “clean beauty,” it doesn't necessarily mean it's going to work. I purchased this mascara back in early March when we were going on a small trip to the river, and upon applying it the first time, I noticed how it took a substantial amount of product out at once, so I would often get quite a bit of it onto my eyelid, which with other mascaras is hardly ever a problem for me. However, when I did apply it, it was feathery, natural, and buildable, and it had that dark brown color that was even more natural. My first test was in the river. I tried not to blink very hard, like I do with every waterproof mascara that I wear in the water, but I noticed that I had no substantial flakes, if any at all, and when my face dried, the mascara looked like it was back to normal. Keep in mind it's currently mid-September, and the mascara seems to be working better than before. There's not as much product as there once was, so I don't have the issue where it scoops too much product out anymore. I recently ran out of my favorite eyeliner, and for some reason, I decided to use the mascara as an eyeliner with an angled brush, and it worked out perfectly, and it stayed on all day. Last week, I tried it on my lips and smudged it out with the excess around the bottle, since it is a clean mascara. It also turned out beautifully with a gloss on top. Later down the line, however, the mascara bottle cracked, and it seems to be spilling some of the product. I feel like I would personally change the vessel of the product and maybe even make the brush smaller or silicone, but the formula is magnificent. I want to get some for my brother's girlfriend, my sister, and my mom because I like it so much. Even though I wish it were at a lower price, I feel like it would be a worthy investment because here I am sitting with a mascara that works beautifully that I've had for 6 and a half months!

So glad I found this mascara — it’s officially my new go-to! I love the ingredients, and it truly is waterproof while still looking amazing. It comes off easily with a cleanser, which is a huge plus. The consistency is perfect — not too chunky and not too thin. Overall, such a great find. I’ll definitely be buying it again!

Eh.....works, but so far not the perfect mascara for me. I like that it separates lashes and makes them look very long. There is no clumping at all -after two uses. I need to put on lots of layers but it barely builds up, just a little. It seems to lean towards being a drier formula than almost every other mascara I've tried. So I'll see how long it will last. The black seems to be a brownish black or something not dramatically black. It is not super standout-ish. As far as waterproof, it didn't come off at all during the day with yawning or rubbing. I didn't cry nor get caught in the rain so I'm not yet vouching for its abilities as a waterproof mascara. Certainty it beats my waterproof tubing mascara though. This mascara came off with tissue easily after a shower. No eye make-up remover was needed. After curling my lashes, I applied the mascara and it only somewhat maybe sort of held the curl. If you like a very light mascara that separates every lash, lengthens, and is natural looking this might be your mascara. There is almost no volume. I've been searching the best clean mascara and while maybe ..., I'll buy this again sometime. It isn't blow away for me.

I opted to try this formula instead of my preferred mascara, Lily Lolo, due to a trip to Hawaii. Pros: waterproof (swimming in salt water and sweating didn’t make it budge/run), natural formula, and buildable formula. Cons: dry formula (have to really wiggle and work to make it build volume), and formula is not very lengthening or curling. Overall opinion: if you’re wanting a natural mascara that is buildable for volume and waterproof, then I would suggest this formula!

Great product! I live in the tropics where it’s humid year round. This is the only natural mascara that I’ve found that doesn’t smudge and stays on all day. Easy to get off too. Highly recommend if you live somewhere humid.

I wanted to love this mascara and gave it a month trial, even going past the time I can ask Amazon for a refund. I found it to be very dry right out of the tube. I messaged with the manufacturer to make sure I didn't get a bad one, and they informed me the dryness is normal. This mascara needs many applications to "build up" good coverage on my lashes. It does eventually look ok although sometimes it becomes clumpy looking. It has good staying power, remaining mostly unmoved by sweat or tears (I tested it in my therapists office while talking about something sad lol). However overall the dryness is not good, and I wouldn't buy it again. So I'm still on the hunt for the perfect natural and organic mascara – the best so far has been Ecco Bella Flowercolor Natural Mascara – less dry out of the tube, and fairly good waterproofing, but still gets clumpy because you need to apply so many coats. The best mascara ever is still Maybelline New York Makeup Great Lash Washable Volumizing Mascara in Blackest Black... and I wish somebody would make a "natural" version of this!

I didn’t realize how much of a difference the mascara makes in my lashes ability to hold a curl. I use this mascara after curling my lashes, and it holds a curl and looks fluffy and glamorous all day. The formula is somewhat dry, which I mean as a compliment. It’s dry enough that it doesn’t get gloopy at the base like most mascaras. I can wiggle the wand to be thorough at the base, which is what I usually do, but with other mascaras I end up with a mess. I love that this mascara is clean, goes on easily, layers easily, and lasts all day without flaking or smudging that I’ve noticed. I wait about 60 seconds before applying the second layer, so it’s still somewhat moist, and this works fabulously for adding depth and sultry glam. The picture that I posted does not do justice, as I was in a rush that day and not focusing on my lashes. At the end of the day, my oil cleanser removes the mascara fairly easily, although sometimes there is a bit of smudge left over, but nothing compared to the hell of removing most waterproof mascaras! I hope they never change this formula, as it has been years since I’ve been this excited about a mascara, and I’m a bit of a snob. ;)

Wanted to love this mascara since it’s vegan, natural and cruelty free, but it has been a real disappointment. Smudges, not waterproof, doesn’t go on easily, definitely not with the price. I bought it for my elopement and did three trial runs with it before the big day and it smudged every time, no matter how much powder I used or how much I cleaned around my eyes to make sure I didn’t leave any oils around my skin. I wore it while writing my vows and was pretty teary and of course it flaked, smudged, and ran a bit. I thought maybe I got the non-waterproof version by mistake, but I think this formula is just not what it’s cracked up to be. I ended up using my non-waterproof mascara from Merit and it even though I cried a bit my Merit mascara didn’t budge and it looked incredible. Wish I could return this and get my money back.

I love this mascara! I had been using another brand for many years but would have to change it out every single month as it would dry out. This one is great. I love that it’s all natural. And it’s waterproof too. Great product! Awesome seller.
