I have a few pairs of HiFiMan headphones (HE4XX and a pair of Ananda's) and a balanced HiFiMan DAC/Headphone Amp....so I needed a balanced cable to work with this setup, not wanting to spend over $100+ for a cable to see if the headphones performed better with a balanced cable, I gave this one a shot, and to my surprise it has been working wonderfully. There might be better cables available, but for this price and the quality, I will never know for sure, I will be keeping this cable as it sounds great, has a nice build quality and doesn't add any colorization that I can tell to the music...this is a keeper.

Hard to beat for the price. Build quality is very good. The XLR is also better than the stock non XLR cable that came with headphone. Using it on my desktop setup. Cannot wait to use it with my reference system. It is a step up from the stock cable which most stock cables are meant to be replaced.

I'm just gonna throw it out now, but unless your cable is damaged, a new cable won't objectively affect your audio quality. I got this because it's a little longer than what I had before. I knocked off a star because the right cable has a loose connection or something, so if it's in the wrong spot it cuts out. Not sure if I want to return it or try to fix it, since it's mostly fine and easy enough to deal with, but QC obviously let something slip. The cable itself feels nice and comes with a little carrying pouch, in case that's something you think you might need. But yeah, it's about a foot longer than what came with my headphones and it's XLR, which has more power on my amp. That's why I bought it, and it does the job. I'd probably buy again.

I needed a cable for my Hifiman HE-560 and balanced Schiit stack. I was looking at a few options on Amazon and anything decent was $50, at which point I would rather get something custom made at Peri..... Then I found these and thought I give them a try since Amazon has such a great return policy. My thinking was if these suck then I'll just order a custom set, but looks like I won't have to. They sound great, really solid/nice material, look good, right length for desktop use, not stiff, and as others have said come packaged very well so as not to scratch.

I purchased this for the Hifiman Ananda headphones to replace the awful and lengthy stock cables it comes with. Without a doubt this is the nicest 3.5mm to XLR cable I have found on Amazon. This cable comes packaged inside a hard plastic box, inside a pouch, neatly coiled and clasped with a leather strap. Each individual connector also had a clear plastic baggy placed over it, presumably to keep them free from dust. Note: the baggies covering the 3.5mm connectors were labeled L and R, but black is left and clear is right in case yours lacks markings and you're not sure. The cable is a 6-strand jewelry weave which is pretty tightly woven. It feels like the strands are coated in a thin plastic or heat shrink material. It is highly flexible and has a pretty nice feel to it overall. The cable leads to a metal/carbon fiber Y-split with a stainless steel sliding piece, which seems to move up and down without too much problem. No quarrels with the individual connectors. The 3.5mm jacks are metal and non-branded. The XLR adapter is also metal and non-branded. I would definitely recommend this product.

Cable works properly, makes a good connection at the amp and headphone ends, is light-weight so doesn't distract when I'm listening, and is reasonably priced. I don't know if different cables change the sound from headphones but I wanted an XLR cable to connect my amp to a new-to-me pair of headphones. I would buy this cable again if I needed another cable with these connections.

Waited about six months to post this review because I wanted to be sure it was going to perform well and hold-up to daily use. My first impressions were very positive regarding the materials and appearance that belie it's relatively low cost. As of today I can confidently say this 3.5mm to balanced 4-pin XLR has exceeded my expectations. It's a great sonic improvement over the stock Hifiman single-ended cable that came with my Sundara.

When I first listened to my newly-purchased Focal Radiance with the stock 3.5mm cable, I was vastly underwhelmed. Even with the gain turned up high, the vaunted ‘slam’ of the headphones was completely missing, and the supposed rich bass sounded anaemic. Happily, after swapping out the cable for this balanced one (with an XLR termination), the headphones came to life and finally lived up to its reputation. You could say that this cable saved my Focal Radiance. Tremendous value.

Sound is a very personal preference; I'd say, personally, I like its sound. It works well with my various DACs and amplifiers. About 1.8m long is also good for desktop listening. BUT BE AWARE that its dual 3.5mm plug is thicker than normal ones. See my photos for reference. The thickest part is about 0.86-0.87 cm or whatever. If you are using it for Hifiman style plugs, definitely no issues, but if you want to use it for something like Meze 109 Pro, you can see it won't fit. While normal 3.5mm plugs, like 0.67cm thickness, will work perfectly. I have another cable that also has slightly thicker plugs that can just fit into my Meze 109 Pro, and which is just a little bit thinner than Youkamoo's, by just like 0.02 or 0.03 cm. It's how it was designed, so no complaints, but just be aware of that. Currently using an adapter for HD800S, so no issues.

I'm not one to get all twisted up on cable quality or whatnot, I would much rather put more money into the equipment I'm listening on. For that reason, I was very drawn to this cable, as the price is just unbeatable for what you get. I was looking for a balanced 4-pin XLR to plug into my THX amp terminating in dual 3.5mm that I could use on my Hifiman Edition XS cans, and this cable fit the bill quite nicely. Build quality is great I think, I'm not scared to handle it like I would the stock cable. Pros: Balanced 4-pin XLR! Long enough without being a "half laying on the floor" cable. Terminates in dual 3.5mm meaning this cable is very compatible with many makes and models of headphones. The look and feel is fantastic, it has a very cool golden sheen to it when the light hits it. Cons: The smell! What the heck this cable smells awful out of the box... I'm hoping with exposure to air and use the smell will evaporate. The adjustment thing on the neck of the cable is sharp milled aluminum meaning if you move it, it could slice a chunk of the outer layer of plastic off of the cable. I will be careful with that.
