Filippo Berio Garlic Flavoured Olive Oil 250 ml

I'm impressed by this. I have to have a low FODMAP diet and have used Asafetida as a garlic substitute but, on checking, it seemed garlic infused oil should work without horrible symptoms - and this does. I've used it 3 times now (in different recipes) with no side effects. The oil has a good strength of flavour and can be used in cold dressings or as a base for hot dishes & it's very nice drizzled on warm bread to eat with soup. Very nice packaging, too, in a glass bottle with a drizzle spout at the top. Good value. Very happy with it & will probably try the other flavours.

INTRODUCTIONOlive oil is worth…almost like diamond in the UK, for there are no olive plantations there; however, since I work as a personal trainer, I absolutely need to flavour my dishes in conformity with the diet I follow at a given period, therefore - since the price looked cheaper than the one requested by supermarkets - I decided to purchase a bottle of Italian garlic-flavoured olive oil.PROSThe price-quality ratio looks good and the flavour can be rated as acceptable, considering I have been using oil by this brand for several years.Furthermore, the bottle can be easily reused and filled up with some garlic powder and extra olive oil in order to keep resuing the bottle.CONSHowever, once I tasted this oil…I immediately perceived a strange taste: in other words, it was not properly garlic but tasted a bit chemical.Besides, the quality is not so much perfect as I expected.OUTLINEFilippo Berio - despite its not perfect quality - ensures a dash of Italy in the UK (unlike many other kinds of oil, whose flavour is everything but Italian).The flavour is not bad, but…be careful if you wish to savour something similar to real garlic!

Use it as a quality salad dressing instead of the usual cream choices. Healthy and not too flavored so that it over powers your food.
