Great light for planted tank
This light is a great value and easy to program. Overall a 4.5 star. The only negative is the wire stand which is flimsy, but that is the same even with more expensive lights. This light is being used on top of a 5 foot (60") tank so with the legs extended all the way they bow a little. Instead I added some heavier and taller 3.5" legs made for Hygger to give it strength and also lift it higher above the water. My tank also has two Hygger HG957 lights end-to-end since they don't make a light long enough, and this NICREW light is being used at the front of the tank to get better coverage front to back. The NICREW is super BRIGHT, I had to dial it back to 40% when used along side the Hygger lights... which are being run at 70% (but same brightness).Pros:1) Slim design and seems very well built.2) Easy to program (once you learn how). Much easier than Hygger which has a odd program.3) Super high output - I am only using this at 40% W/R and 40% B. This is compared to the Hygger 957 that I am running at 70%. Good light penetration down to the substrate even above a 24" deep tank.4) Color and intensity appears to be similar to the much more expensive Fluval Plant LEDs.5) PRICE is great! I think the Fluval is 6x the price and Hygger slightly higher but cost me even more because I needed 2 to cover a 60" long tank.Cons:1) Extension legs are a little weak when fully extended.2) The clock time is not saved during a power outage (or unplugged), but this is the same for most brand LEDs I've tried. The program remains but the time resets to 12:00. Easily fixed by adding a small computer battery backup to maintain the program time.3) When setting up a custom program there is no separate color adjustment for Red, the White and Red are one combined channel and Blue is the second channel. Not a big deal and really can't complain for the price.4) No WiFi, just the wired controller... which can also be a plus. But it's also much cheaper than those with WiFi remote programming so I won't complain.Overall this is a fantastic light. Time will tell if it holds up over a long period of time but at the price it can be replaced several times before spending as much as the Fluval lights.

Great light for planted aquariums.
I purchased this light because this manufacturer has earned a good reputation with its aquarium lighting. This light in particular is one of the brightest I've found for this price ($47). The 30-36in light fits perfectly on a 20 gallon long tank. You dont need this light if you dont have a planted aquarium. which are less bright.Im super happy with the color spectrum & strength, ive noticed the plants have noticeable growth after 1 wk. The timer works as it should.Worth noting is the initial set up. Many reviews mentioned the complexity of setting up the built in timer. I ignored the reviews, thinking "how bad could it be?". Well, let's just say you won't be able to get by without reading the directions. The light comes set for 100% strength from 9 to 5, but you can adjust the duration as well as the intensity. Youll need the directions because theres a button that youd think means "back" but its actually "undo" so if you hit that, all the settings you've just inputted will be erased.Because of all the adjustability, initial set up is a little excessive, but thats the cost of having said adjustability. Once you've set it, which im embarrassed to admit took 10 minutes, you dont have to mess with it again. This light doesn't have a remote or pre-set modes, such as cloudy, moonlight, thunderstorm, etc.Great light for anyone seeking a straightforward light on a timer, for planted aquariums.

10/10 would buy again
I was a bit skeptical of this because I haven’t purchased anything from this brand before, but I decided to pull the trigger and buy the planted tank light.I first used this on my 10 gallon, but then moved it to my 20 high, and eventually on my 29. I even knocked it completely in the tank, but I pulled it out quick and yanked the plug from the wall. After letting it dry out for a week, it was good as new and completely survived the submersion. I thought this was a nice touch, as accidents happen. It is a really strong light. Even though a 29 gallon is 30 inches wide, the 18 inch light works like a charm. It’s bright enough and has the range to allow all of my plants to grow. My previous light was dinky and my plants were withering away, but when I threw this bad boy on there they sprung right up.The full spectrum mode lets all of my plants grow super well. It might actually be too bright for some fish, but there is an option to tone down the light. This is a tad complex to figure out in the beginning but the manual explains. The blue light is cool, but not very useful (at least to me). I do like the option to turn it on to this if I please.Overall, Nicrew did a good job and this light is worth the money to make your tank shine and your plants grow.Cheers and have a good day.

Nice Aquarium Light
I installed this light on our 40 gallon bow-front aquarium and it looks great. These tanks are tall and they need a strong light. The light is strong enough to make the whole tank shine. The programming works well also, although you need to read the instructions to know how to set it. The cables are long enough for my setup, but not too long. (Don't make the shorter, I needed them at full length.) Things I like:* Color balance and ability to adjust blue separately* Light strength (more than enough for my planted freshwater tank)* Night time slow sunset and moonlight programs.* Packaging and assembly is robust* Controller display is easy to readThings that could be improved (took off 1 star):* Memory when the power goes out - it should keep time for at least a few hours* Retain programming when power goes out - I know I'll need to program it all again when the next snowstorm kills the power on us* Dimming is linear, not logarithmic. People observe luminance on a logarithmic scale. The dimming adjustment should be exponential so that 50% level looks 50% as bright as 100%. I adjusted the white from 100 -75 and could not even see any change.Otherwise this is a solid product. I'm sure they will solve the time retention problem soon. (All my little timer modules for my other devices remember the time when the power glitches. ) It's a nice product and I am happy I purchased it!

Excellent light!
The light and timer work great! I have a planted aquarium, and all the plants are doing quite well! The controller is configurable for setting light intensity as well time of day. I've had it working for the past year plus some months with little need to touch it. I'd have to say the nicest part is just being able to set it and forget it. It's also nice that it is all in one kit, you don't need an app to run it or adjust it, you just configure the controller and then forget about it.Recently I was having issues with the controller. I reached out to support and they were helpful in getting my controller working again.Excellent product, will buy again if we end up getting more aquariums!

Great value!
Have the 36" version of this light on my 36" 22g rimless. It is very bright, I am currently running it on 40% during the day and it is growing my plants very well. The controller is easy to use and program. I like how it has an adjustable sunset/sunrise feature; I have mine set to the max at 120 minutes and it's perfect. It's also nice to be able to adjust the brightness separately for both the blue and white/red lights. If I can get a couple of years out of it I would consider it well worth the price. Only time will tell, but as for right now this is an amazing light and a great value.UPDATE 11/2/2023Light is still working as good as day one. No problems at all. My plants are growing like weeds. If you are not pumping co2, this light is about as strong as you will need at only 50%-60% brightness on the settings (depending on tank depth/dimensions). So if you decide to go co2 you can easily ramp it up. Great light.

Beautiful & affordable light
This light is exactly what I needed! It puts off the perfect amount of light (and the colors look great) and I love the daytime/nighttime mode. The timer is relatively easy to set up if you follow the directions. The only con is if I lose power it resets to factory defaults, meaning the lights turn on in the middle of the night. Such a small problem though because at least it still comes on unlike other lights 🤷🏼♀️ I have two but plan on buying another for my third tank, and have already convinced my mom to get one too. 10/10 would recommend.

I love these lights!
I have 7 fish tanks now and 4 of them have these lights. The programming ability is VERY cool. I have them all sync'ed (since you input the current time) and so they all act at the same time! On one, I even had to adjust the brightness down about 25% as algae was building up. Algae was nearly gone in a week and still has enough light for the plants. Great lights with the easy to use programmable remote. I don't have a lot of experience with other brands but did get one of those Hygger ones with the 3 buttons, when my buddy gave me his whole setup. I've yet to research or read how to set it (LOL) and just guess about the time I want it to transition. Anyway, all my plants seem to be doing very well with this lighting. An enhancement request... the wire frame extendy things that reach to either side of your tank are low to the water surface. I would like a set of wire frames that would put them about 6 to 8 inches OVER the tank. Not sure how they can engineer that cost effectively. What I did was pull them out, take it to my bench vise, and just bent them where I wanted... but that changes how they fit to the edge because of the bends. One drawback, if I'm to nit-pick. We had some bad storms a few days ago and we lost power. When the power even glitches, these things reset their time to midnight (I think it was) but didn't seem to lose any of the custom settings... But is that even a problem? Maybe future models could have a little backup battery supply for this sort of event. I've heard places like California can experience many brown-outs, so I imagine it can become tedious to have to always reset the time. Doesn't happen often here, so no worries. So if power glitches at night, I guess it's good to reset to midnight so all your tanks don't suddenly come to life while you're sleeping! LOLHope that helps. Get them, you won't be disappointed!

SkyLED PLUS review + comparison with classicLED PLUS
This affordable light is very bright for the price you’re paying. Definitely +1 for value. The tank I have it on is 16 inches deep for reference. To turn the light off you must hold down the “m” button in the middle for three seconds, unlike a conventional dedicated on/off switch. To add on, the build is quite sturdy, does not feel cheap. The skyled plus (labeled SP in the attached photo) is a tad bit brighter compared to the classicLED PLUS (labeled CP). Both are more than adequate for growing plants 100%. I like how the skyled plus is dimmable, useful if you find it too bright for the fish or you’re experiencing algae growth due to the intensity. On the other hand, the classicLED plus is just on or off. For this reason I would pick the skyled plus over the latter. To add on, it is also nearly half the width of the classicLED plus, thus taking less room on top. Good for the minimalist look. The unit does get quite hot but nothing to be alarmed or concerned about.Final rating: 9.5/10I don’t have any complaints. Perhaps a built-in timer would be nice, but for the price point that’s asking for a lot!

Bright, great setting option, good value for money
Overall a very good product. I have a closed hood so I taped the adjustable holders to the outside of tank. A great work around to tape it to side of tank. My hood ballast burnt out and I don’t want to buy a new tank so this was a perfect fix.

Great light, keep dry!
This is the second time I’ve ordered this light for my workplace aquarium. The first was a mere 6 months ago, as the first one did not withstand splash and humidity from the aquarium water. Otherwise, the light is absolutely incredible value for fish enthusiasts. The programmability and ease of use is fantastic, especially the ramp-up and ramp-down feature, and the moonlight feature (both highly customizable). I recommend using an aquarium lid in conjunction though, to guard the light from any water splash! I love the light so much, I will be getting a bigger one for my own home aquarium. The light likes to stay dry, otherwise it’s perfect.
