Shave Gel for Men by American Crew

This "Cooling Shave Cream" is currently my preferred American Crew shaving product. My job requires me to shave my face daily, so I've used my fair share of different products. This has a decent cooling sensation and it leaves the skin feeling smooth and refreshed.

# My ReviewThis review is for American Crew ACUMEN Cooling Shave Cream. I’ve used a variety of shaving creams, gels, and foams over the years, ranging from expensive to budget friendly and they basically do the same thing! That said, this feels like a designer product with a quality blended formulation that sets it apart from the rest. Trying this particular brand, I can confirm that this works particularly well on skin/facial hair; however, it’s positioned at a slightly higher price point for what it is.This shaving cream is packaged in an American Crew branded box that has a simple, yet classic look and details the ingredients, directions of use, etc. on the back and sides. Inside the box is a similarly branded 3.3 fl. Oz. wide squeeze tube with the same labeling and descriptive details. The tube is relatively strong and durable with a flip-top lid to allow for the cream to be dispensed quickly & easily with the desired amount.As the product description states, this cream is designed and formulated with natural ingredients, vitamins, and bisabolol that are known to moisturize, soften, soothe, calm and help reduce sensitive skin irritations.The consistency and viscosity of the shaving cream is very light; however, don’t expect this to foam up! A small amount is sufficient enough to spread evenly and feels smooth over the skin; doesn’t feel harsh or abrasive. While shaving, the razor glides smoothly, minimizes cuts, irritations, razor burns, etc. I’ve noticed less nicks and very soft skin afterwards. The cream leaves a nice cooling sensation – it works as described! My post shaved skin feels great!Overall, this is a good shaving cream option for all types of skin. Well-made of quality materials.Good quality, no problems or issues.Received as expected.

If you're looking for a shave cream to apply by hand, this is a fine product with a pleasing but not overpowering scent. However, if you prefer to use a brush to whip up a lather, it simply won't. I put some in my shave bowl and used my badger brush to no avail. There's nothing on the container that says you can't use a brush, but if you try, you'll get no lather whatsoever. I find that this is not unique to American Crew. A lot of shave creams fail to say that brush lathering is not an option for their product. For me, using a brush is a major part of the pleasure of wet shaving. If that's not the case with you, then by all means try this and I'm sure you'll like it.

The American Crew shaving cream is a pretty standard shaving product that's not going to wow anyone. However, it will allow you to get a good, irritation free shave. I liked the mild cooling sensation while shaving. The cream doesn't lather up at all. You basically smear it over your beard, sort of like Cremo. I didn't like how it clogged up my razor, which took a while to fully rinse out. The scent is mild and clean smelling. Nothing to write home about. This shave cream is an affordable way to stay clean shaven, and that's about it.

I've used some products that really seem to chill the face, and others (like regular shaving soap) that don't at all. After using this for a while I would describe it as mildly cooling. It doesn't leave my face feeling "refreshed" (in a minty or menthol cool sense), but I get a nice smooth shave out of it and my face feels comfortable afterward, and not dry. The scent is also pleasant and mild. I'd have preferred it if it were a little more cooling, but I like it anyway.As with many shaving creams I've used a little goes a long way, so apply sparingly and add more if you need it. During use it might dry out a bit. If that's the case put a small amount of warm water on your fingers and apply it to your face to rejuvenate the shaving cream.

This is a nice cooling and conditioning shave cream that helps with dry skin and a better, cleaner shave.

My husband likes this shaving cream; he doesn't use it every day (he uses an electric razor most of the time and skips shaving cream), but he uses it about once a week when he shaves with a safety razor. It is soothing, helps the razor glide smoothly over his skin, and leaves his face soft and moist. He's okay with the scent...he says it's not his favorite, but it's not bad either (he's kind of meh about it). He does like the cooling feeling it gives him and how closely he can shave without nicks, itching, or bumps. It's a fine shaving cream, and he enjoys using it, but it isn't revolutionary...it's good.

Lo compré pensando que era un jabón en crema. Pero no, es solo una crema para afeitar. Vamos, que no hace espuma.No me parece cómoda de usar, es complicado repartirla uniformemente aparte de pringarte toda la mano.Como positivo, la cuchilla desliza muy bien, pero es poco protectora y en mi caso he tenido irritaciones y heridas en el cuello en todos los afeitados.Lo que si me ha gustado es el aroma y la sensación fresca que deja en el rostro.Mi recomendación, es que si te gustan las cremas de este tipo que no generan jabón adquieras la Emulsión Myrsol, que es auténtica magia tanto para afeitarte como para proteger tu piel. De echo es la que he usado hoy para reparar las heridas e irritaciones que me ha provocado esta Crew.

La hidratación que produce
