Review: and not in a good way. If I let it air dry - So before I go into my review of this product, let me give you the stats on my hair because I think depending on the type of hair you have, this product might work differently for you OR you should have different expectations for the end result. I'm Caucasian in my late-30's and have chin-length, color-treated hair. My hair is course and thick and has a lot of gray in it. It is also curly/wavy..and not in a good way. If I let it air dry, it's very frizzy with some wave and curl. I spend about 20-25 minutes daily drying and straightening it in sections. I had two goals for this product- first was to decrease the amount of time I spent drying and straightening my hair daily or even- gasp- let it air dry and not look like a cavewoman. Secondly, my husband and I are going on a trip overseas and I didn't want to deal with my hair then. After doing my research on the different treatments, I chose this one after seeing someone use it on a youtube video. What I liked about this product was that, unlike a lot of other products on the market, it says you can WASH and style your hair right away after use. Many products make you wait 3 days to wash your hair and I am just not down with that. I found this product to be easy to use. I did not notice any strong odors- if anything, it smells very fruity. You do have to follow the directions carefully, but once you do this treatment, each subsequent treatment should go faster. I had my sister come over and apply it and do the straightening because my hair is on the shorter side and I wanted to make sure all of my hair got good coverage and was flat ironed properly. It took maybe an hour and a half total, but like I said, I think it will go faster next time as we won't need to stop and read directions. Not that the directions are complicated, but there are a few important steps you don't want to mess up. My sister found it helpful to use a hair color applying brush to apply the treatment and then use a comb to pull it through. I will admit that before I washed the treatment out and used the repair mask, my hair was very heavy. Almost a little sticky, but not quite. But I figured I really had nothing to lose. Back to my hair type and expectations- since my hair is thick and course, I was not expecting my hair to look like the model in the picture- baby fine and silky. I really just wanted to decrease my frizz and the time it takes to dry it in the morning. Results: I LOVE this product. It's been almost a week and I've tried out a few different things to see how well this product has worked. First, I dried it with a round brush without sectioning and without using a flat iron. Then I sectioned it and dried it without the flat iron. (See a theme here? No flat ironing!) and I have been REALLY impressed by how tame my hair is and how little frizz there is. After drying it with a round brush in sections and not flat ironing it, it looks as good or better as when I was doing that AND flat ironing. Now the real test: We had some snow days here and I knew I wouldn't be leaving the house, so I let my hair air dry. This in the past has been a disaster- like I don't want anyone to see my hair that way ever. I am happy to report that my hair looks GREAT just with air drying it! I do think I like it better drying it with a round brush to give it some definition at the ends, but that's personal preference and due to the fact that my hair is on the shorter side. If my hair was longer, it would be perfectly fine. I love the fact that my hair is not being damaged daily by the hair dryer and flat iron as I'm trying to let my hair grow out. With my chin-length, thick hair, I probably used 1/3 of the treatment, so this is a very good value! If I had one tip for this treatment, it would be to have a second person applying and straightening the hair simply to ensure the product is evenly applied and the back of the head gets straightened well.
Review: The angels wept... - I'm a 58 year old black woman who finally got tired of coloring my gray hair since I'd get the "white line of demarcation' within weeks. Then, I'd have to use that brush-in crap, or wear headbands - I said screw it. But in case you've never dealt with gray hair, it is some wiry, tenacious stuff (and the edges - OMG!). So I would continue to get a relaxer (I use Affirm, which doesn't seem to dry it out as much), and that was fine; it would straighten it, but kinda sapped the life out of my hair. So I'd heard a lot of talk about these keratin treatments doing essentially the same thing as a relaxer, but leaving your hair w/more body, and shine. I read the reviews and since I was due for a touch-up, decided to go for it. HOT DANG!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR! It's like elves came in my house last night and replaced my hair with beautiful, soft, shiny fairy hair. The process is a little tedious (it took about 3 hours), but the payoff is completely worth it. And it's WAYYY cheaper than the $175 my hairdresser charges. I washed my hair well w/the #1 shampoo, dried it with a wide-toothed detangling comb and my fingers, and sectioned into 6 sections. The kit includes gloves, but I did buy a dye brush to apply the #2 solution, and a very fine-toothed comb to comb it thru (thinking the finer the tooth, the smoother the hair?). I just used a glass bowl to put the solution in. My hair is chin length, so brushing solution on the top of each section by the roots and then down by the ends kinda morphed into just brushing the solution on the whole length, and then I used the tiny-tooth comb to comb it thru. The excess solution would kind of collect on the base of the comb, which helped to keep the sections from being saturated. And while my hair was a little snarly before I brushed and combed in the solution, it became smooth and easy to comb thru once the solution was applied. A lot of people talk about the fumes but they didn't really start to bother me until I was almost done with applying the #2 lotion. My eyes did start to sting a little so I left the bathroom for a few minutes, and came back to finish. The hardest part was drying my #2 coated hair with the COLD air setting on my dryer. I see why the instructions say not to "saturate" the hair. I got mine about 75% dry, and then decided I'd just let it air dry while I ate some soup. Finally, it was dry, and I sectioned it into about 8 sections (vs. the 4 they suggest) so I'd be sure to flat iron everything. The instructs say to flat iron a section near the root to about 1/2 the length about 8 times, and then do the remaining half about 4-6 times. With short hair, this was a little challenging because your the top half by the root gets HOT to hold while your're working on the lower half. Oh - and the steam is normal. Then, after all that, you rinse all the solution out (and WOW - was my hair ever straight and smooth), and condition it with the #3 solution for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, my hair was soft and smooth, but still a little rough, so I grabbed a small squeeze of another keratin conditioner, and ran that thru, and my hair got a little bit softer. I don't wear my hair blow dried; instead, I wet set it. So I put in a little Infusium Leave-In, and rolled it up. When it was dry and I unrolled it, I could hear the angels singing. This is MUCH better than a relaxer! Just make sure you flat iron your edges, and do small sections so you get all the pieces.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: I have very curly hair , does it straighten the hair ?**
A: It depends on your hair type. It will straighten thin hair but will mildly relax course hair. My hair is 3a and very curly but the strands themselves are thin and it straightened it to a loose wave.

**Q: How long should I wait to use this treatment after using demi-permanent color on my hair? I used a demi-permanent color and a 20-developer last night.**
A: You wanna be careful using heat with any semi or Demi permanent hair color. Bc the more you process your hair (apply heat, wash a lot) the more it strips color. I'd wait a few days and start with a test stran. This will accomplish 2 things; you'll see how you hair and the color will react together... Without you finding out AFTER you've applied a whole bottle. If you found this answer helpful; please click the helpful link, so it'll show up as a top answer for question.

**Q: When i wash my hair after this treatment?**
A: You can wash immediately. You don't have to wait 72 hours. Now when you wash your hair you should use sulfate free shampoo & conditioner.

**Q: Do you have to leave this in 3 days?**
A: Yes, do not shampoo for 3 days.

### ⭐ Caused 2nd degree burns on scalp
*by P***Z on September 15, 2026*

I am a Caucasian woman with curly frizzy hair. I tried this on a recommendation from a friend. The product does what it says. It does straighten your hair and my hair is now very soft. If you can manage to get a friend to help you, I would recommend that as I found it very difficult to do my own hair with all the steps involved. However, the product burned my scalp so bad and also wherever the product fell on the back of my neck, I have red welts on my scalp that are oozing as it is trying to heal. It’s only been a day and a half since I put the product on my hair, I will never use this product again because of the burn factor. I feel it is a very unsafe product with very little instructions except what you find on the back of the bottle. As I am writing this review, I have burn medication on the worst spots on my scalp and the back of my neck to get a little relief. I did experience second-degree burns that are red welt-like lesions that are starting to blister. When I was using the product, I had the window open and my tabletop fan blowing in my face because my eyes were tearing up because of the strong toxic odor. Halfway through the process as I’m feeling the burn, I knew this could not be good for my skin. But what could I do? I was already halfway through my hair and I had to finish the process. I finished the other side of my hair just as quick as I could, and quickly rinsed off the product. The next morning, I washed my scalp again to make sure I did not have any product on my head because throughout the night I could still feel the burn. It was a very bad experience so if you have a sensitive scalp, and you are afraid that this product will burn you, I would look elsewhere. Good luck if you purchase it.
