SCYTHE KM06-BK Kaze Master Flat Fan Control Unit

Bought this to control speeds of four main system fans in a SuperMicro 743 chassis. These draw 0.68 amps each and the Kaze controller works well on all four. Fans are 4 pin and this controller has adapter cables that work with both 4 pin and 3 pin fans (although the control is not true pulse width modulation, just variable voltage control). No problem with cold start of fans, even with them running down below 2000 RPM.

Works fairly well to control my 4 case fans. It just varies the voltage so depending on the fan, it may be difficult to get them all to match if you want the speeds the same. If you have 4 matching fans should not be an issue. The buttons are a little small and you have to have a light to see them or at least get used to feeling for which one goes in which direction. Think there is a version 2 of this without the front glass. Haven’t tried it, but I kind of like having the cover. It doesn’t interfere and simple to pop it open. Don’t use the temp gauges just because I don’t like having a mess of wires everywhere, and use onboard software, but that really only works if your speeds don’t vary greatly because you will be adjusting 4 individual fans all the time. Shows rpm of the each fan and temperature if you have the sensors placed somewhere. For what I use it for, it’s great, but so have seen better. I had been using a manual controller with turn dials but didn’t like that I couldn’t tell the RPMs. It was also a 3.5” in a 5.25” adapter and it was a little loose due to cheap car construction. This is a little sturdier.

Like this flat unit with no knobs just clip door with window too see Temps or just Rpm. Dislike the catsup & mustard cables thorough and green PCB.

Habe bereits einige Produkte von Scythe erworben, darunter auch die erste Serie der Scythe Kaze Master Lüftersteuerung (mit den Drehreglern) - ausnahmslos handelt es sich hier um souverän funktionierende PC-Produkte mit Empfehlungswert - so auch die "neue" Kaze MAster Flat... ich gehe hier gar nicht auf die "google-baren" Produktdaten ein, sondern direkt auf meine Erfahrung mit dem Produkt ! Die Kaze Master Flat hat meine "alte" Kaze Master abgelöst und ich bin absolut zufrieden - einwandfreie Passgenauigkeit, schließt bündig mit der Rechnerfront ab (trotz Klappe) - Einbau ist für normal-begabte PC-User in 5-10 Minuten erledigt...nahezu selbst erklärend - Verarbeitung dem Preis absolut angemessen, sowohl die Frontklappe, als auch das Zubehör (Kabel, Sensoren) - gut abzulesen...man kann aus sämtlichen, üblichen Positionen das Display gut erkennen positive Produkteigenschaften, die das Produkt für mich vom "Vorgänger" bzw. der Konkurrenz abgrenzen: - edle Optik durch komplett geschlossene Front - Display ist abschaltbar (!) - Alarmfunktion per Jumper ein- oder ausschaltbar - einfarbige, klare Displaydarstellung (subjektiv, aber ich stehe nicht auf bunte Kirmesdisplays) - Klappe schließt absolut bündig, wackelt nicht - Beim Start laufen die Lüfter mit vollen 12v an und drosseln dann auf den eingestellten Wert (!) (das ist sehr nützlich für so manche Lüfter oder gar Kompaktwasserkühlungen, die sonst evtl. nicht anlaufen!) - Lüfterregelung über flache Tasten in sehr feinen Abstufungen (30 rpm) bereits ab 3,8v (!) Was evtl. den einen oder anderen stören mag: - durch die komplett geschlossene (Plexiglas-)Front muss diese zum Öffnen und Schließen der Klappe gedrückt werden...wer also "Fettpfoten" hat die möglichen Abdrücke als störend empfindet, wird wohl häufiger mal kurz drüber wischen müssen.- Alles in allem eine Empfehlung für alle die keine automatische Steuerung benötigen oder wollen und auf ein klares, schnörkelloses Design stehen. Und natürlich für alle User mit einer Tür/KLappe in der Gehäusefront, die absolut flache Displays brauchen.

Adquirí este producto para sustituir al anterior controlador de ventiladores que tenía del mismo fabricante. El principal motivo es que este modelo no tiene botones ni otros elementos que sobresalgan por lo que puede usarse en cajas de ordenador con puerta frontal. En positivo destacaría: Diseño sencillo. Permite apagar los ventiladores por completo y también la iluminación del display. Mantiene los voltajes estables y, por tanto, la velocidad de giro de los ventiladores. El único aspecto negativo es que está construido casi completamente en plástico de aparente fragilidad, incluso los laterales para atornillarlo, a diferencia de otros que tienen la estructura de aluminio.

J'ai principalement choisi ce produit car j'ai un boîtier avec un porte en façade, il me fallait donc un contrôleur de ventilos ne dépassant pas afin de pouvoir fermer cette dernière! De plus la qualité est au rendez-vous, l'installation est très simple et l'utilisation intuitive! Le contrôleur permet également de connecter des éléments de watercooling (petite pompe par exemple) grâce à sa puissance admissible par canal de 12 Watt. L'alarme se déclenche soit quand une des sonde de température dépasse la valeur prédéfinie (par défaut 55°, on peut aller jusqu'à 90°, par paliers de 5°) et elle se déclenche également lorsqu’un ventilateur (ou une pompe) connecté lors de la mise sous tension s’arrête (0 RPM), ce qui est très pratique. 4 sondes de température sont fournies et je pense qu'il est possible de mettre des sondes de watercooling à la place afin de contrôler la température du liquide à différents endroits. Pour finir, les tensions de fonctionnements des ventilateurs sont comprises entre 3,7v et 12v, réglable par palier de 50RPM environ (pour un ventilateur). Il est également possible d’arrêter chaque ventilateur (OFF). Ce contrôleur est donc un très bon produit et permet vraiment de faire ce que l'on veut, contrairement à la plupart des contrôleurs plats qui ne proposent que 3 mode de tension d'alimentation, la première étant souvent trop élevée!

Ho comprato il Scythe Kaze Master Flat perchè avevo la necessità di gestire tre ventole visto che collegate alla scheda madre andavano per conto loro e non per conto mio. Ora posso regolare la velocita delle ventole a mio piacimento, in più posso anche fermarle il tutto molto comodamente posso monitorare non solo il numero di giri, ma anche la temperatura di quattro settori del case a mio piacimento, posso impostare un limite di temperatura in modo che se dovesse andare troppo su il Scythe Kaze Master Flat mi avvisa con un segnale acustico. Il designe è ottimo e non ha parti sporgenti perfetto per case con sportello, ha anche uno sportellino per proteggere il display. Unica cosa che mi ha fatto storcere un po il naso è che se spengo il display al successivo riavvio del pc il display si riaccende. Ma tutto sommato la ritengo un ottimo prodotto.
