**Q: All metal? Should they be oiled?**
A: I don't think it matters.  I didn't oil mine, but they're only used to roll up a canvas door.  They shouldn't need oil if only used for lifting or changing direction of a cable or rope!

**Q: Will these work for kayak hoist?**
A: I would say so, yes. They are not large, so if your Kayak is not real heavy they would work. Stainless is best for wet applications also. My use was to roll up/down vinyl rain curtains over my porch screens. For that job, they are really a bit too big. Best guess... I think they will work for your Kayak.

**Q: What's the weight capacity on these?**
A: I'm guessing 10-15 lbs. I had to use heavy duty screw-in hooks, they hold so much weight. This is not "cup hook" hardware.

**Q: Country of Origin? Where is this manufactured?**
A: Seriously! China. 90% of products are made in China. They cornered the market, and have cheap labor, and precious metals to build products.
