Not compatible with the Raspberry pi 3B+
The fan came mounted on the wrong side of the heatsink/bracket. The case is for an older or different version of the raspberry pi that does not have an hdmi and the power outlet hole is in a different place on the 3B+ than on the case. The way the screen was packed inside the case when it arrived caused the plastic risers to smash into the screen very hard (hard enough to break through the protective plastic). There are no instructions at all for assembly. This seller is just straight up lying about what you are supposed to get and what the case is compatible with. This is a garbage product as far as the case goes.

Works for my purpose
Took the chance with this LCD due to its low price, at the time of this writing there is no review. I am running raspberry pi with repetier server for 3D printer. For that purpose, this LCD screen worked. The refresh rate seems rather slow, maybe 1 fps? For my purpose the slow refresh rate is acceptable. Touch appears to be sensitive enough.Included in one of the little bags are silicone heat transfer pads pre-cut to fit all the chips on Raspberry Pi 4. There is one for the CPU and one for each of the black colored chips. There are also spacers to use the taller screws to attach the aluminum bracket to the bottom cover. To get the LCD working you will need driver. There is no instruction included with the LCD, neither is there any instruction with Amazon listing. I got it working on first try with the following steps1. log into the raspberry pi, mine runs raspbian buster2. run "git clone https://github.com/waveshare/LCD-show.git"3. run "cd LCD-show"4. run "sudo ./LCD35-show 180"note that the 180 in the last command rotate the screen by 180 degrees. If you don't need to rotate the screen, do not include 180 in the command. After this command, driver will be compiled and R Pi will reboot with LCD working.I think the slow refresh rate has one benefit, that this screen runs significantly cooler than the other similar 3.5" screen I have tried. Also the tiny fan included in the package is not annoying like some of the other ones I have. The included snap on case is pretty nice. A screen-less cover is also included and includes camera and display ribbon cable cutouts.Overall, $20 well spent. Depending on your need, this screen may or may not work for you. For example I don't think web browsing or watching video would be possible on this screen due to the very low refresh rate. This is really a 4.5 star but upstarring for being the cheapest Pi 4 LCD with case and a functional thermal solution.

2 days of headache
I'm an IT guy by trade. I'm well experienced with Linux. I spent 20 total hours trying to get this to work. I started off trying to get it working on Ubuntu Server (desktop). I was unsuccessful. I tried on Raspbian. Unsuccessful. I tried on Ubuntu. Unsuccessful. Hours of troubleshooting, hours of online searching the errors. No success. The fan is not only noisy, it's barely effective averaging 65⁰C. The case itself is pretty good quality though. Regardless of that, the product is purchased mostly for the screen. I was really excited for this product, I really wanted it to work, and unfortunately it simply doesn't work. I wanted to use this to give a head to my headless travel NAS, but the Rpi will be getting decapitated once again.

It has potential I'm sure...
I ordered two quantities of this, one for raspberry 3b and one for 4. One of the screens came cracked but the other was fine. My biggest complaint is the description clearly says compatible for 3b. My posted photos was for the 3b and you can clearly see the picture doesn't fit raspberry 3b. Also, I followed the instructions and still have the white screen so I have to reflash my SSD and start all over to try again...

This LCD causes low voltage problems ,shutdowns and nothing but trouble.
A total waste of time and money either take my word or you will find out the hard way NOT for a RASP PI 4B, as it uses buss power and there is none to be had ,I have a seven inch monitor with separate power source and it works fine but this thing is a drag. now I have a second 3.5 lcd it has separate power and its own HDMI port so I go with it and just mod the case and I will be happy. anyway BE WARNED .

Did not work out of the box
Followed instructions. When rebooted there was NO picture.RPI was working: could ssh to it and VNC showed a smaller screen but NO actual picture appeared on the display.Nice case though but not worth $20 and the hassle of removing an LCD driver.
