Great plugs that hold up well and easy to wire up.
Great banana plugs. Easy to wire up and holds in place. I tried others and they did not hold as well as theses. Its the second time I order them.

GREAT DEAL! One of the best and least expensive banana plugs on Amazon.
I have been an electronics technician since 1985. These plugs are inexpensive, well machined, easy to install, perform well and look good. When installing, strip about 3/8" of stranded or solid wire. Twist the strands and bend into a slight curve or just bend the solid wire. Unscrew the barrel from the shaft until the holes are completely open. Insert the wire through the hole at the end of the barrel into the plug ensuring the wire extends slightly (1/16 - 1/8 ") out of one hole. Screw the barrel FIRMLY onto the shaft to ensure it doesn't come loose. I recommend using needle nosed pliers to hold the shaft (where the holes are) then twisting the knurled barrel as hard as you can with your hand. I can't see how anyone would have any issues if tightened correctly.

Good but not perfect for large wire
They worked fine. You can install these in two ways. 1. take off the end, run the cable through it, bend the wire slightly and push into the plug end. The wire will come out through the hole in the plug end. Then tighten the cap part to secure the connection. This is the best method and results in a great connection and the speaker wire going straight into the plug. 2. loosen the cap, push the speaker wire through the side of the plug hole, tighten the cap. This is fine but you cables enter the plug at 90 degrees which can be a little tough in tight situations. My cables have very thick insulation, they were to large to go through the cap so I had to use the 90-degree option. I would have chosen larger plugs, but these did work fine and were very cost effective.

So much whining about nothing. These work just fine.
First, they DO work with skinnier wires, like 16 AWG lamp cord/speaker wire. If you don't want to use the side holes, strip 1/2" of insulation off the wire ends, shove them into the ends of the loosened plugs, then use a second plug (or anything that fits) to poke through the side hole and push the bare wire out the other side. Tighten up the screw and you've got a solid connection. Simple. No need for Vice Grips. For those worrying about a "loose fit", they're easily adjustable. Using a pair of Channellock-style pliers opened wide, put the tip of the plug against the upper jaw of the pliers, bring the lower jaw up under the end of the plug (it fits like it was made for it), and squeeze gently. The insertable part of the plug will get shorter and fatter, making a nice snug fit in any reasonably standard socket. Don't squeeze too hard or you'll have a useless gold-plated mushroom. It doesn't take much force. Are these the ultimate banana plugs? No. But they're good enough for any system that cost less than $10,000.

Side opening makes it easier to aim the wires down on my speaker
Easy to use and really good value for banana plug adapters. It's got a high quality look and feel because it's made of brass and it's fully gold plated.

Great low cost connector for speaker cable.
These are well machined, solid connectors. Use them before trying to connect the speaker cable to the speakers if your amplifier and speakers have the banana plug connector/posts. My rear channels (Polk dipole surround speakers) had a colored (red/black) plug in the bana plug, which popped out. My center channel doesn't support the banana plug, but my front left/right floor standing Polks do, as did my Denon receiver, so once I measured out the cable lengths and screwed on these connectors, plugging everything in was a piece of cake. I got one wire backward which was picked up when I did the Audyssey sound checks, so flipping around the plug polarity was a piece of cake. The trick to these connectors is to push the cable through from the end and then have it fan out at the end so it will be pinched when you screw the 2 pieces together. The fastest way I found to do this is to unscre the connectors so you can see all the way through the hole, then lightly twist the speaker cable and thread it so it goes through the end easily then when it comes out at the hole use another plug end to push the cable part way out the side of the hole, then screw connector together, pinching the cable strands. After the first 2 it's quick and easy. No sound distortion, good connections and easy assembly and management. I wish I had these years ago. Don't forget to buy enough for both ends of the cables, and if you have patch panels for the speaker cables, you might need even more!

WARNING: SALES FINAL, CAN'T RETURN! Worst banana plugs. Tips fall out and get stuck in ports
I've been using banana plugs for a while, and these are by far some of the worst. After struggling to get the threads to seal and hold the wire in place, I plugged it in. Well within a few minutes, the wire was falling out. So I went to take the plug out and re-install it in the plug. When I did that, the tip just fall right off with minimal resistance and got stuck in the port. Fortunately I had some needle-nose pliers that were able to get it out. Whatever, I'll just return it -- WAIT NO! I can't! Monoprice knows they're garbage and for some reason made them non-returnable. Didn't even dawn on me to think to look at ships/sold by Amazon as being non-returnable, but they did. DO NOT BUY THESE. And only buy them if you absolutely positively know that they will 100% work and not break off, because you will not be allowed to return them and make Monoprice continue to push fake reviews to drown out the real ones.
