My cat can also groom himself in other areas in which I am happy because in a cone... he can't.Make no mistake, this does not cover the cat's belly if you're trying to cover something up under there. I didnt buy this as a fashion piece, only as a way for him to stop picking his shoulder area.I did buy a large at first, which does cover the area. To start with I want to say it's not a bad product. The material is soft and lightweight and it seems to be sewn well. I ordered the Medium for a 10.45lb cat. She's 12 yrs old. The medium was too small to be fully comfortable on her. It was tight in the stomach. Also, it did not sit at the neck, it slid down to just above her shoulders, which made her more binded than wearing a shirt. The arm holes are sized for the way a dog's body is structured. A cat's shoulders are very collapsible. She never got her arm back through the hole but if I were to have ordered a larger size I know she would have been to pull her arms through. All in all it's a good product, I just believe it may be difficult or not work at all to find the right fit for your pet.
