3" Steel with Nylon Base 2-in-1 Bench Block Anvil Tool Set Surface for Metal Forming Stamping Jewelry Repair

I am new to making jewelry so I got all the cheapest tools. I am super pleased with this purchase because it gives me different options and it does not take a lot of space i can just carry it anywhere and start woking with my project. Only giving it 4 stars because the bench block doesn’t work well with the steel block, and I have only been using it for couple months with a 20 gauge titanium wire and 10 gauge aluminum wire and the steel base already have some dent on it.

I was prepared to give this 5 stars but then I used it last night to hammer aluminum bottle caps. I used a small jewelers hammer to carefully hammer out the caps so a lot of force was not used. There are now a number of pits in the metal anvil part of this. That is ok I guess because I will use the other side to hammer wire. The nylon part of this is lovely and did not scar up when I used it to finish out the cap I was working on. The rubber also deadened the sound which I am sure my neighbors appreciated.

very happy with this, works great for a small workspace and is very easy to use, only thing that bothered me is the steel piece was covered in some sort of oil I am assuming there was a reason for this but I would have liked to be prepared for that so I had not gotten it all over my hands and workspace now my workspace smells like a car garage.

I am in love with my new bench blocks. I must say, I bought this because it was a 2 in 1 product, but I don't recommend using the rubber base with the steel block. The rubber absorbs the blow from the hammer and doesn't work right. I use a leather sandbag underneath the steel block. It absorbs some of the noise, protects the surface and holds the steel block in place.

This has been a great addition to my jewelry making bench. It doesn't take up a lot of room. I use the nylon side when turning a piece over to work on back, as in to reshape a piece. It won't scratch the front of my piece.

This is great for making jewelry. I will buy again. I wish I found some clear. That why I like shopping this site.

Get this if you need to hammer something it helps

I use as a base for hammering jewelery wire 12 gaugue or finer. The small size is convenient and easy to store. Expect it to last a lifetime.
