Nice vacuum for our Shaw Caress carpet
Works well on our Shaw Caress carpet. Works well on hardwood workout leaving marks and is very light. Doesn't have attachments, but I'm good with that given I have a dyson cordless for other needs. Perfect combination.

This is the only time when reading the other reviews did not work for me....I only used this vacuum a few months before it broke. When I contacted the company that shipped it to me, about how to get it repaired they never contacted me back. It broke because the hair got tangle around the beater bar and made the bearings freeze and then broke the belt. This Vaccum has a poor design. My husband fixed it and said there is too much space between the bearing and the beater bar and it will do it again. There was not alot of hair that caused this to break either. It now will not self propel any more. Most money I have spent on a Vaccum and has been my worst buy.

Love this vacuum
Love this vacuum! It is lightweight and easy to maneuver. Almost pushes itself! I like the 2 different power levels and you can really feel the difference in power. Cleans very well and the bag is easy to change and no mess.

I purchased this from a local appliance dealer, and we have had it for only a couple of months. I haven't yet had to change the bag, though it looks to be easy enough. We have both hardwood floors and area carpets, and this does the job very nicely on both. A powerful engine, two levels of power, and lots of vacuum. That means it's also a bit loud, so don't figure on having a conversation while you're using it. It is also very light, and easy to maneuver, with a nice long cord. So far, we're very happy with this purchase.Update: We have had the M500 now for 9 months, and still appreciate it as much as the day we first brought it home. It continues to do a great job on our hardwood floors and area rugs.Update 2: It's been almost two years now, and I continue using this vacuum with great satisfaction.
