The set is perfect for family gatherings. We used it last week and had a great time. Age range :- 73 to 9 !! The set is made of sturdy materials and should last a long time.

First impressions are super! The bag looks great and opening it up, while its claim to be "Deluxe 'Premiun (sic)' is a little optimistic of the marketing team; the bag is nice, the mallets are wood and nicely made, the wickets are fine and the balls are - well the balls are plastic. That I have to admit was a huge disappointment and makes a big distinction from thjis and what I would call deluxe 'PremiuM' product. I suspect making spherical wooden balls is not cheap. There are six balls and mallets in this set, so one might say that each ball and mallet costs £10 and the bag, wickets at posts are all included for nothing. Do I consider that a bargain? Absolutely! Getting beyond the fact the balls are plastic, my next realisation was one of joy. I bought this as a communal set for my apartment block of 12 flats wherein we have elderly, we have families and the leaving out the toddlers, the children who I hope will play with it range from 5 - 10 years in age. The set states it is for families but as I waited for it to arrive I worried that if the mallets were too big then a smaller child would have to swing them from lower down the handle and in that lower pivot position might hit themself in the eye with its top. OK- so I then thought, well perhaps the mallets are very small to be child friendly, but then worried they would be too low to the ground for aged backs or just become a little whimsical for adult play. In reality ApudArmis have nailed this to perfection. Yes the mallets are scaled down to work for young children, but they are still of sufficient height to work for adults. I am about 5' 7" and the mallets are about as high as the top of my leg and have a really nice swing to them. I don;t know if ApudArmis is just the distributor or also the designer, but if they are the latter they have absolutely got this design perfect and I can accept that the use of plastic balls keeps the price down (even if I would still have preferred wood and paid more). Or would I.... ? I also recently bought a Boule set and have noticed that the kids adore the 'clack clack' of banging the balls together. The metal balls seem remarkably tolerant of this, but were they to find the same appeal in doing the same with painted wooden balls I think they would ruin them - so maybe plastic is a sensible decision. The set comes with the mallet heads separate to the sticks but the wooden screw thread works perfectly so they were easy to assemble. My immediate concern was that with the mallets assembled, would the set still fit back in the bag, but they everything went back in without a problem - in fact 'fiilling' the bag rather better than before. What I do know is that the set will be loved by all ages across all our apartments, the families being of many peoples from across the globe with many supernatural myth beliefs or none. If only the world could be as happy together as we are in our apartments as a global family, and games like this uniting us, it would be so wonderful! There will be only one thing that divides us now we have this Croquet set: Are you good or rubbish at Croquet! This set is inexpensive and a joy. Bringing our small community of 12 flats together is something that I am passionate about and family games/games for everyone of all ages is a huge part of how I have succeeded. For most, this will be a game set that they can adore playing with their family, as parents or grandparents - a game for all ages. In my case, this is more than that, it is a game that is contributing to make people of diverse origins and beliefs a family and when the kids of all these are playing, it becomes a lesson to the world and a cause for celebration... all the wretyched stuff we all know but I don't think I can mention, but in adult society - there is none of that. We have a global family here who love each other. This croquet set adds to that in a big way. I think this set is stunning and a complete bargain. I would have liked the balls to be wooden but can see reasons why that might not be optimal for kids and also why that might hugely increase the price of the set. If you are looking for a solely adult set, then this is not for you - the mallets are scaled to work for children and skillfully done so thayt a child of (guessing here) maybe 8-9 would have a perfect sized malletm a 5 year old would have a mallet that was still Ok for them and an adult can still use as the mum or dad (OK I have only tested that by myself and I am a 5' 7" shorty but I think most parents would be fine with them, unde3rstanding why they are on the little side.

A well made and fun game to play in the garden - for just the 2 of you or up to 6. Works fine on our uneven and not ideal lawn!

Played with quite a lot as it's really fun. Good sized equipment for children (niece 9yrs and my son10yrs ) as well as adults. All good quality. Family had so much fun, they bought a set too. Would recommend.

Great fun for all the family

We have had and will have great fun with this croquet set. The hoops are a bit weak. The clubs are fine, ideal for a family as quite light. Suitable for a fun games with adults.

A genuine bargain! Absolutely brilliant!! Really well made - easy to put together - great instructions - really good carry bag… superb!!

We purchased this specifically for a backyard BBQ family gathering, and it was SO fun! My husband was a bit apprehensive that our adult kids and grands would even be interested in playing, but turns out it was quite the hit! Good quality, bright colors, and clear instructions (for those of us who’ve not played croquet in many years). Highly recommend!

Delivery was very prompt but the product itself was not what I wanted.
