Short learning curve but worth every penny
Do not hesitate to buy this. Look for the listing that's got 5 tubes at a cheaper price each per tube. Is this stuff easy to learn how to use? No. Expect to waste some while you get the hang of it. Is it the best thing for bracket and metal pain? Yes, by far. It requires patience and an understanding this is not like just pressing wax in, it's a polymer. It needs to be blended in tiny amounts, and once mixed you have to learn, "what is 30 seconds too long" to start molding it around your hardware and teeth. Important: keep a blow dryer handy if possible to do a quick drying blast for better adhesion results. This stuff is amazing. When you mix it, it is as sift as warm chewed gum. Put it in the trouble spot, hold it for 2 minutes (yes it will seem long but use that time to so a few lunges or squats! :) And then its hard enough to stay in place. It will harden through the day, but still be easily pried off with fingers or a toothpick. I put this in a few trouble spot in the AM. If I only eat soft foods all day (yogurt, cottage cheese, mashed potatoes, scrambled eggs, green smoothies) then I do not take it out to eat (yay - a huge timesaver). After eating, I swish agressively with Closys (recco by my Periodontist) and then a 3% perioxide swish (common brown bottle) and then water swish. I take the Gishy Goo out at night, do a through cleaning, and depending on if my mouth ulcers are healed, I can usually sleep with nothing in my mouth, since my cheeks are not moving. I rarely get mouth ulcers when using GishyGoo. I do still use wax from time to time when I am going out a lot in public because there are two things not great about Gishy Goo: (1) a very very mild bubblegum smell that goes away after an hour. I hate fake flavor and fragrance and its tolerable. (2) its a soft white/peach color. It's ugly but I do not care... I'm in pain and you folks know what I mean. I don't give AF what I look like when it hurts this much, I want the least pain and hassle. This is that.

Best product
This is an amazing product! I only wish it hardened up sooner. Great for pokey wires on your braces. Holds stronger and grips better than gun wax and it is easy to remove. I wish it was cheaper but worth every penny honestly.

This stuff is awesome
I LOVE this stuff! I suck at trying to use dental wax and this has been a life saver. Well, cheek saver. I have a little trouble from time to time getting it off my finger and onto the bracket/wire but that’s user error. It’s the perfect feel over the poking wires and it doesn’t take much. Highly recommend.

Way better than wax
My daughter has been through it with braces; she’s had them since she was 9 along with a palate expander and herbs device to push her jaw forward. The amount of sores she gets is awful.. we do salt water rinses, and wax never sticks good enough. This works amazing. Thanks to another parent recommendation, you dry the area first. Use a pea size amount, roll together and place. It should set up all within two minutes, and it stays! Much thicker than wax. Making a good boundary. Pretty easy to pop off especially with the little sticks it comes with. Not to mention this last round for her, a wire was sticking out that we couldn’t get to. This is expensive but worth it. There’s not a lot so you may go through it quickly depending on your needs.

Definitely Helps With Sore Brackets
This is a really cool alternative to the dental wax they give you at the orthodontist. My son was in a lot of pain from his brackets and the wire sticking out rubbing against his gums. We could not get the wax from the orthodontist so I ordered this. Once you squeeze out a pea size, you mix it together quickly with your fingers and place on brackets. It does harden quickly so you want to put it on quickly. I found it does not stick to the wires though, only the brackets. We found some silicone wax that sticks to the wires that I bought. Price for this was a bit high for the amount you get. My son really liked the flavor of this.

Works great. Pricey and runs out quick.
Works great but I took off one star because it’s so pricey! And you use it up quick. But it does work really well, way better than wax.

Buy Now Desperation Purchase 10/10
Cheek Saver! By the time you breakdown and buy this strange looking product your cheeks are raw and desperation has set in. Buy it. I started with Ortho wax but the stuff available in stores nearly melts in your mouth and doesn’t stay put. The little square wax sticks are worthless - even after drying your brackets off which is really only possible in the front those were an absolute no go. Enter the Buy Now decision of Gishy Goo! Glad I did! Some people mention a tip that goes on the end - mine did not come with one but it works all the same. Roll a small amount around between your fingers mixing it together. Wait for it to get a tad bit tacky otherwise it wants to stick to your fingers not your brackets. A little patience goes a long way…Slow down. Try again! This stuff works!

Not effective at all
Unfortunately, I didn't get to try this until after the return window closed so can't return, but it's no better than the free wax your orthodontist gives you. It was too soft, then didn't stick, waited, still didn't stick... still as frustrating as wax but at a much higher price.
