My daughter (3) was having trouble controlling a normal size pencil. I opted to give these a try and they have worked very well for us. They have helped her develop a proper grip on her pencil and to become more confident in her letter formation. She feels like a big kid using a real pencil to do her "school" work every day.I do wish these were a bit shorter. Especially for the age they are marketed for - an inch shorter would make them balance in the hand a lot easier, but I suppose with time they will become an inch shorter as we sharpen and use them.Finding a sharpener once we had dulled the point was a little challenge, but I had a 2 sized sharpener stashed in a drawer. You might want to make sure you have a larger sharpener handy if you plan to use these regularly!

LOVE LOVE LOVE these pencils. It helps my 4 year old with his language and motor skills. These are much easier for him to practice tracing and writing out his letters. He struggles with the regular pencils and I think these helps him with holding the pencil correctly. Highly recommend to all parents with kids who need extra help with their writing skills! Worth every penny! I also bought the LeapFrog My First pencils (2 for $9.95) but these are much cheaper since you get 4 for only $4.59 and they work just the same!

These are not the normal ones I buy. They are larger then normal pencils yet still have the number 2 lead however they are not as big as I expected. They don't have the pencil sharpener though so you have to buy one seperately . There are 4 included and they are latex free in case you have an alergry for it.

Got them for my 5 yr old grandson he's in kindergarten, is having trouble with fine motor skills. My daughter said he's doing so much better with writing

I am an adult and purchased these pencils for my own usage. I am learning to write Chinese Characters, which ironically is much like a child learning to write the alphabet for the first time. . Their size and weight allows easier control while the thicker lead makes the characters, or letters proportuntial with the larger width and length of the alphabet new learns begin writing.

These are very nice pencils! Great for younger students or students that have difficulties holding the thinner pencils! Also great for students with fine motor skills difficulties.

I purchased these as a replacement for traditional "carpenter" pencils. I find that these allow for a more precise marking of lumber, and tend to "stay behind the ear" a little better than the rectangular pencils. I stuck 3 of them in my tool bag, and am down to 1, because other people seem to like 'borrowing" them too. Will be ordering again soon.

Loved that I found them on Amazon makes it easy for my husband to find and write with. bought several. was so happy to find these, he had to from Lrg. box store, lost one and he had a fit.Now one happy 95 yr. old husband, would be great for young hands learning to write also!
