Two of them were already leaning out (no longer a 90 degree L shape) upon arrival and one that is in place is leaning out after only a couple of days in use. They hold fine, but bookends shouldn't be bent out. I think they will hold up but are strained. So they will work fine for light duty (like standard paperbacks), but if you've got heavier or taller books, look elsewhere. It will work for me because I have a mixture so I could use some other ones I have for the heavier books and these for the lighter ones but if you are in need of holding back heavier books, I don't think these will fit your needs.
