I saw there isn't a door flap (agree it would be a great idea, but is there one that would work? is there a waterproof warm bed that fits well?

The hardware is in a bag taped to the top piece. Third party flaps are available and easy to install as a door.

Re: petmate husky dog house: how do these do in heavy wind?

I don’t know about heavy wind but ours broke within 2 weeks. The plastic pieces that held the top on, broke off. The base also cracked. I would not recommend. Hope this helps.
