Did some troubleshooting and discovered that the #1 triac was bad. The following day, I went to the ecosmart website to order the triac, but it was on back order and I wouldn’t t be able to get it until Monday. So, I checked Amazon and found the exact item (matched part number with the one on the ecosmart website) and it could be delivered between 4 - 8 AM the next morning! Package was delivered at my door @4:05AM and it was the correct part! Took me 10 mins to install the new part and had instant hot water again. Our ECO 36 was having tremendous issues with chugging and banging after each use of hot water. After much searching and watching several Youtube videos, I found this to be a common problem, and in all cases, the recommendation was to replace triac #1. It completely resolved the issue, The ONLY issue is that I believe this triac assembly is built for a more narrow unit--possibly the ECO27. The main power cable only barely was able to reach the lug to screw it down with the lug screw. a tiny bit of slack--even just a 1/2" would have made installation a whole lot easier.
