DEWALT DWHT70277 Compound Action Long Nose Pliers 9 Inch , Black

I certainly have two or three different pairs of needle nose and regular pliers around my garage, but none of them have spring action opening, so I went on a bit of a pursuit of finding a good set. My main goal was to find a robust but not overly bulky set of pliers that I could use for removing large areas of support material from 3D prints. If you don't know, removing support material can, first, be quite a task as it can require a large amount of power to separate it from the main model. Second, it can be deadly, as I personally have sustained multiple non-life threatening but very ouchy cuts from removing support material either by hand or with too dainty of a tool. I don't like buying cheapo tools that need to be replaced in a year or two, so I first bough some higher-end needle nose pliers of the Klein brand. They were ok, but even though I got the 'big' 8" ones, they were still too dainty for what I really needed. There are areas of models that do require smaller pliers to get at, but those areas don't require much power typically so any small to medium plier will usually do. I still needed something with better grip, but didn't want any huge tool that would be cumbersome. I tried a couple other brands but was still dissatisfied. Strangely, these Dewalt pliers did not start flooding my product algorithm even after buying other sets of pliers; I suspect they are typically categorized in the 'big boy' category and maybe not in the hobbyist set. Ok this review is getting long. These Dewalt pliers are exactly what I needed. They have decently long and rubberized handles so you can get a very secure grip. The teeth and jaws are powerful enough to grab and rip out large areas of support material but the nose is small enough that it can still be used in a fairly fine detailed manner. The springiness of the opening is just right; strong but not overly so that it will fight you. These are so easy to use and of course, they work for all sorts of garage tasks like gripping a stripped screw or whatever you may need to death grip with a set of pliers. Very robust, I can't see these things breaking easily. The locking mechanism is a little odd but it is simple to use and works. I do wish there was a loop on the end of the handle to facilitate hanging but that's just being picky. I think my goal here is to let you know that these pliers are awesome, they work extremely well, they sit in the sweet spot of not being too small and dainty but also not being massive roughneck industrial pliers.

Great pliers! The grip is really nice, I do like the locking mechanism. I used these to pull a broken screw out of a fixture and they worked great. Nice construction and a quality tool.

I made the mistake of letting my wife use them for one of her projects, she liked them so much that now I'm having to buy another pair because she has no intention of giving them back. Can't blame her, they're great pliers.

Good clamping pressure when grabbing something. Feels solid.

The leverage is amazing. My old hand are not strong anymore but this tool really helps with that.

I bought it because it was a discounted product, but a rusty product of about 2cm was delivered. I used a rust remover and there are translucent traces. I bought a new product and I'm disappointed.

Considering this was an expensive product from a rebound company DEWALT. The build quality was very poor. I actually thought the product was a copy and not by DEWALT. Very disappointed
