I used to go to the salon to get the formula applied to my hair. After ordering the product and doing it myself, I found the salon skipped steps to shortcut the process. I would pay lots of money to have someone else do this; not anymore! After completing the process on my hair and following the insructions the results are better than when leaving the salon. I have long, wavy to curly coarse hair. I love the results!!!Just to add, I have also had the brazilian blowout done on my hair at a high-end salon. It washed out after 1 1/2 months, even after using the recomended shampoo/conditioner. A complete wa$te of money and the hair texture was not any more soft and silky than when I used Rusk. Back to using Rusk and will not deviate from it again.

i have been using rusk for 12 years. i have naturally curly hair and live in a very humid place. this product makes each hair strand thicker and loosens the curl and completely stops the frizz. i straighten out my hair with a straighter with ease. i walk out into 100% humidity and not one frizz. i love this stuff!! swear by it!!!!!

It was easy to use at home by myself, non-irritating to my scalp, and the results are natural and lasting. Did not damage my hair. The price was excellent.

I was a bit daunted at the prospect of straightening my own hair, but I also didn't want to pay hundreds of dollars to have it done professionally, so I decided to give this product a shot.It was not that hard to use, just time consuming. You wash and dry your hair, then apply the relaxer, pulling and combing the hair as straight as possible. After 20 minutes, you rinse thoroughly and then dry and meticulously flat-iron your hair.While I was rinsing, I could already see that the curl was pretty much gone from my hair. Once dry and ironed, it looked sleek and smooth, though a bit dry.Next step: I applied the neutralizer and again, combed the hair as straight as possible for 20 minutes.Then it's rinse and dry, and flatiron again. My hair looked smooth, straight, shiny and polished.You have to wait two days to wash your hair after this, and I admit I was afraid I would wash it and the curl would come back, but it didn't.After using this product, it takes less than half the time it used to to style my hair straight in the morning. I can even let it air dry and instead of a curly, frizzy mess I get smooth hair with a very slight wave.It was time consuming but well worth the price.I will definitely be buying this again to use on new growth.

especially if you have color treated hair. I have coarse, resistant hair that can withstand pretty much anything. i used to use this product several years ago and haven't in a while but decided to try it again today. I had the product in my hair for less than 5 minutes when I started to see my hair actually crinkling up. When I tried to comb it straight it broke off in clumps. I rinsed it out immediately and applied the neutralizer but even after such a short time it was too late. Now I have a toilet full of broken hair. I used to use strong relaxers on my hair and never had anything like this happen. I don't know if they changed the formula or if I received a fake product, because I've used this in the past with no problems. Whatever the matter is with this product just stay clear of it, fried hair is not worth gambling with.
