Great gigabit router w/ Firewall & VPN support, no wifi
Web page interface for easy setup, but yet a very sophisticated device. There are no wifi radios here, strictly a wired gigabit device (which I prefer). There is support for vlan tagging of packets, QoS shaping of traffic, openVPN, and much more. Full manuals and some example setups are available on line. Firmware update was easy and available though support pages. No fan motor in the metal box, device runs just a touch warmer than room temp (a good thing).

Excellent Ethernet Router for home use
Telephone support from Linksys for setup was first rate. High speed throughput is great. After it was set up, it's been "Plug & Play" ever since. No issues. I can't say the same for the WiFi router which preceded it. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A solid router/firewall
I like the Open VPN feature and the set up is simple. The EasyLink VPN setup to another LRT214 super silly easy. It has all the features I expected, works well and was easy to set up. It’s not perfect. The web interface takes some getting used to, and seems to require an extra click to save changes. The form factor is not my fav, Ethernet ports on the other side of the box from the corresponding status lights, and the power plug is in on the side. Largest LAN subnet is 255.255.255.0 (not really a big deal but I needed to rethink my IP assignment thinking).

Good Piece of Kit.
Great product. Easy setup. Extremely fast. Would definitely reccomend to anyone in the market for a good quality small business VPN router. Only problem I have had is that it would not let me log on to setup one day. After restarting it it restored back to factory default password but all of my settings where still good. Seems strange no one else has had this issue.

Worst Firewall decision you can make
DO NOT purchase this product for your business. Linksys is great at making little home desktop switches that connect your printer to your computer but when it comes to a REAL business class product they can't compete with the other players in the market place. I purchased this product as a firewall between a Comcast cable modem and my network switch. It has been since the 26th of Jan and I still can not get this product working. I have called Linksys numerous times and have had 2 different case numbers opened for this product. The first case number determined the product was defective and it was replaced. The second case number is still open with no resolution and no support. The problem: We have a very simple network. Cable modem --> LRT214 Linksys Firewall --> Networks switch --> computers/printers etc. When we plug in the LRT214 with the default setting out of the box the unit works fine for a while. Then the entire network crashes and the LRT214 must be rebooted in order to restore the network. All console login to the device goes down and ONLY a hard power reboot will get the unit back up. The firmware was upgraded to the latest and a factory reset to default settings was performed. Both the original unit and the replacement unit are doing the exact same thing. They crash all the time. After opening the second case on the replacement unit I was told 24-48 hours for someone to call me back and work with me on this issue. It has been 5 days and I again had to call Linksys back and they told me it was assigned to someone who will call me. I was told on the phone this is a business class product; they will not work with you until they transfer you to their business class team. Really? 5 days to respond and that is business class? I have 2 internet connections to my business. Our original circuit is ATT and the network topology is : ATT modem/router --> Networks switch --> computers/printers. EVERYTHING works great in this setup. We decided to upgrade our internet connection to Comcast 50Mbps circuit and needed to get a new modem and firewall. So when we unplug the ATT modem/router and install the LRT214 with the Arris modem we get this network topology : Cable modem --> LRT214 Linksys Firewall --> Networks switch --> computers/printers Everything crashes and the LRT214 lockups every time. When we switch back to ATT modem/router connection we get a stable network. First time Linksys business class product purchaser. This unit is going back if they don't call me today and fix it. 3/3/2016 - Product still defective. I call Linksys customer support every other day with no resolution in place. They tell me engineering is looking into it, but no one calls or emails with updates. I tried to call Belkin in CA for USA based help since they own linksys.. NOPE. No one can help. You have to call the Linksys support in the south pacific area. Every time I call same story... read the case notes and tell me someone will call me and it is being worked on. Amazon won't return the product, as it is beyond 30 days. If this is the support you want for your business class product then by all means buy a junksys product. If anyone at Linksys is reading this and is based in the USA with some tiny bit of authority to do something by all means contact me. THE WORLD IS BROKEN. What happened to customer services, tech support and doing the right thing?

Love this product and Love the AC1750 and AC1200 also by Linksys Business line.
I have this LRT214 router and also have the AC1750, and AC1200 business access point and was able to quickly create a VPN to my office, then use the AC1750's for AP and bridge to send internet to my shop. Set up was FAST and easy, and support was awesome. I found NO firmware issues that seem to plague other brands. If I shut off my internet by disconnecting the cable, then reconnect, the VPN comes RIGHT back. I have had such problems with other brands, I am switching all my equipment to Linksys... Support is getting SOOOO disrespectful with other brands, I have just had it. And the firmware mistakes with competitors is so horrible that I think a grade schooler did the programming. I believe I had American support from Linksys, but I cannot verify this. Either way, support was awesome.

Problems with slower cable modems.
I bought this router to replace an older Linksys router that connects my in-house network and the cable modem provided by my ISP. The ISP service that I have is for 100 Megabit download speeds and the modem can support up to 200 Megabits. This router worked fine for connecting my network to the ISP's modem, but I could only get 35 Megabit download speeds through the router. When I connected directly to the ISP's modem I could get 95 Megabit download speeds. I spent quite a bit of time researching this on the Internet, and it seems that this particular router sometimes has trouble connecting to slower modems. I tried some of the recommendations provide by others (including Linksys tech support) to fix the problem, but was unable to get the speeds above 40 Megabits. I decided to return the modem to Amazon.

Easily configurable, and seems like good security for the money.
I have installed two of these firewalls. One at my job, the other in my own home. The one at work acts as a remote access firewall for a web-based application. The one at home is a basic everything-is-allowed-outbound, nothing-that-originates-outside-is-allowed-in firewall. The GUI interface is clean and easy to understand. The throughput seems quite strong for such a small, cheap box. My measured cable throughput hasn't slowed down at all (50 mbps) and netflix, amazon video performance are unaffected. In both cases, I had the firewall configured and talking in less than a half hour. I have worked on Cisco and Juniper firewalls, and this device seems a lot easier to work with. It probably has fewer features but for what I'm using it for, it does the job. My home network cable modem has been hacked twice, and I do not consider cable or DSL modem is to be the least bit secure. This would seem to provide some measure of protection, although in the end most home network security problems start with a visit to a contaminated website. No basic firewall will fix that.

Very good, easy to use and intuitive software considering the need of our small network (compare to stupid Cisco ASDM). Truly functional. Very happy with it.

Garanzia a vita reale
